Silverback Productions (sometimes referred to as Silverback Games) is a Canadian video game developer founded in 2007 and headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. [1]

The company makes primarily adventure and puzzle games [2] and have been released on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android, [3] with distribution through Big Fish Games. Many of their games have been well-received on the Big Fish Games portal, as well as being Top 10 titles on the iOS App Store and on Google Play. [4]

Empress of the Deep was declared the 2011 Best Art and Character Design Winner at the 2011 International Great Game Awards by Gamehouse. [5] Its sequel, Empress of the Deep 2: Song of the Blue Whale was awarded 2012 Best Art Direction in the 2012 Annual Gamers Guild Awards hosted by games portal iWin. [6]

Theodore Tugboat is a Canadian children's television series about a tugboat named Theodore who lives in the Big Harbour with all of his friends. The show originated in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada as a co-production between the CBC, and the now defunct Cochran Entertainment, and was filmed on a model set using radio controlled tugboats, ships, and machinery. Production of the show ended in 2001, and its distribution rights were later sold to Classic Media. Mystery Case Files is a video game series originally developed by the internal studios of Big Fish Games. Some installments were developed by Eipix Entertainment between 2015 and 2019 and Elephant Games who developed sequels from 2013 to 2014. The newest installments were developed by GrandMA Studios. The Mystery Case Files series is known for its hidden object puzzles where, in order to progress through a game, the player plays the role of a Master Detective and must find a certain number of items hidden somewhere on a painted scene.

Hidden Expedition is a series of single-player hidden object casual games developed by the internal studios of Big Fish Games for the first five installments, and by Eipix Entertainment for all subsequent installments. Two latest installment was developed by Domini Games. As of 2018, a total of seventeen games in the series have been released. The Hidden Expedition series marks the second major hidden object game brand from Big Fish Games. The second game in the series, Hidden Expedition: Everest, would go on to be the first game Big Fish released on the iPhone.

Paula Fairfield is a three-time Emmy Award-winning Canadian sound designer and sound artist, based in Los Angeles. She is best known for her work on the series Game of Thrones. In May 2021, she was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from her alma mater, NSCAD University.
