Sissy Spacek is an American noise band founded in 1999 in Los Angeles and currently consisting of official members John Wiese and Charlie Mumma, along with several collaborators both past and present. Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2001, they have released a considerable catalogue encompassing genres which include harsh noise, [1] noisecore, [2] grindcore, [3] free improvisation and musique concrete. [4] Early releases consisted of collages of previously recorded demos and live performances with heavy use of cut-up editing. [5] Many works have been released or re-released on Wiese's own label, Helicopter.

The band was ranked fourth in LA Weekly 's 2015 article "The 20 Best Punk Bands in L.A. Right Now". [9]

Incapacitants are a Japanese noise music group formed in 1981. Initially a solo project of Toshiji Mikawa, Fumio Kosakai joined upon the project's relocation to Tokyo. The duo's stated aim is to produce "pure" noise, uninfluenced by musical ideas or even human intention, using primarily feedback, vocals, and various electronics. Kosakai calls this sound "hard noise", as a nod to the jazz subgenre hard bop.

Gensho is the fourth collaborative studio album and seventh release by the Japanese experimental band Boris and noise musician Merzbow. It is presented in two parts; the first disc features re-recordings of several Boris songs and a cover of the My Bloody Valentine song "Sometimes" in drone-based, drumless style, while the second disc consists of new compositions by Merzbow. They are intended to be played at the same time, much like the previous Boris double album Dronevil, or as separate works.
