Sitara Afreen is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since August 2018.

She was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on a reserved seat for women in 2018 Pakistani general election. [1]
On 13 May 2024,the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) suspended her membership as a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. [2] This action followed a Supreme Court of Pakistan decision to suspend the verdict of the Peshawar High Court,which had denied the allocation of a reserved seat to the PTI-Sunni Ittehad Council bloc. The Provincial Assembly ofKhyber Pakhtunkhwa is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,which is located in Peshawar,the provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan,having a total of 145 seats,with 115 general seats,26 seats reserved for women and 4 reserved for non-Muslims.
