The Sivaprakasa Visagam is a collection of poems in Tamil written by Siva Prakasar. Shaiva Siddhanta. [1]
These Poems [2] are composed in favour of 'Sivagna Balaya Swamigal of Pomma Pura Aaddeenam. [3]
Siva prakasar, [4] a Tamil Phiolospher, Sage, Poet lived at the end of 17th century.
Sivaprakasa Swamigal travelled widely all over Tamil Nadu temples. He met Santhalinga Swamigal along his way. They planned to see Mailam [3] Murugan Temple. There they met Sivagnaana Balaya Swamigal. [5] Perur Santhalinga Swamigal persuaded him to sing about Sri Sivagnaana Balya Swamigal. But Siva Prakasar told him that He will sing and praise only Lord Muruga not about human beings. On that night Lord Muruga appeared in his dream and told him that I am the one raised again as Sivagnaana Balaya Swamigal. [6] so nothing wrong to sing about him. He started singing the hymns on that day onwards.
Then Siva prakasa Swamigal became the First and Prime disciple of Sivagnaana Balaya Swamigal. [7]
Great poet Sivaprakasar, who was blessed as 'Sivanuputhichelvar' by the grace of Aadhi Sivagnaana Balaya Swamigal has composed thirty two volumes of poetry in praise of Lord Shiva and Sri Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal. In the following five works of significance, he explains us the wisdom of his guru, which he had experienced personally.

Swamimalai Swaminathaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to god Murugan. It is located in Swamimalai, 5 km from Kumbakonam, on the banks of a tributary of river Kaveri in Thanjavur District, 250 km from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is second abode of Murugan among six (Arupadaiveedugal). The shrine of the presiding deity, Swaminathaswamy is located atop a 60 ft (18 m) hillock and the shrine of his mother Meenakshi (Parvathi) and father Shiva (Sundareswarar) is located downhill. The temple has three gopuram, three precincts and sixty steps and each one is named after the sixty Tamil years. The temple has six daily rituals at various times from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and three yearly festivals on its calendar. The annual Vaikasi Visagam festival is attended by thousands of devotees from far and near.

Siva Prakasar, was a Tamil poet and philosopher lived during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He was called 'Thurai mangalam Sivaprakasar', 'Karpanai Kalangiyam', 'Sivanuputhi chelvar'. He had contributed more than Thirty four Thamizh books for the Thamizh Literature, the most well known of which is the Nanneri, a work dealing with moral instruction. He is also well known for translating early Kannada works into the Tamil language. and for creating his own poetry.

He worshipped Saiva Siddantha. He got married when he was sixteen. He attained Mukthi Motcha at the age of eighteen. Therefore, he had no children.
