Skippylongstocking is a bay horse bred by Brushy Hill, LLC.. He is sired by Exaggerator, out of a War Chant mare named Twinkling. Skippylongstocking was sold as a yearling at the 2021 Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training for $37,000 to Daniel Alonso. [11] [12]
Skippylongstocking started his career with three different Maiden races before starting in the Street Sense Stakes, where he finished fourth; [13] [14] he has run four races into his two-year-old season, winning only one race and earning $53,500.
During Skippylongstocking's three-year-old the notable races won are Harlan's Holiday Stakes [15] and the West Virginia Derby. [16] It was also recommended that the conditions for the Belmont Distance would be right for Skippy; [17] the earnings were $724,310 and had three wins during the year.
This year the most notable wins for this horse are the 2023 Challenger Stakes and the 2023 Charles Town Classic.
