Skt. Jørgens Gymnasium (1858–1991) was a Danish high school located in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. It was established in 1858 as Frk. Jessens Forberedelsesskole and changed name to J.V. Jessens Latin- og Realskole in 1889. After yet a name change in 1904 to Henrik Madsens [Latin- og Real]Skole it was taken over by the state in 1919 and changed name to Skt. Jørgens Gymnasium. Girls were admitted from 1950. [1]

Jens Wilhelm August Lind was a Danish apothecary, botanist and mycologist. He was a pupil of Emil Rostrup and published a full account of all fungi collected in Denmark by Rostrup. These were mainly microfungi, such as plant pathogens. He also wrote accounts on microfungi from Greenland and elsewhere, mainly based on collections made by other persons on expeditions, e.g. Gjøa expedition and the Second Thule Expedition. Combining his pharmaceutical and mycological knowledge, he was early in experimenting on chemical control of plant pathogens and recommending it to practitioners. He also - together with Knud Jessen - wrote an account on the immigration history of weeds to Denmark.

HF-Centret Efterslægten was founded as Efterslægtselskabets Skole by the philanthropic society Selskabet for Efterslægten on 4 March 1786 as a lower middle school and started teaching on 3 January 1787. In 1881 it also became a Latin school and in 1886 the first students with the Danish Studenter-eksamen graduated. In 1919 the institution was taken over by the Copenhagen Municipality, and 1958 the school began admission of girls. In 1991, the school changed name into "HF-Centret Efterslægten", and in 1993 the last students were graduated with Studenter-eksamen, as now the Higher Preparatory Examination (HF) is offered instead, both as a two-year programme and as individual courses for young people and adults. School motto: Non nobis.

Tvedes Bryggeri was a brewery on Vesterbrogade in Copenhagen, Denmark. Founded by Hans Jørgen Tvede in 1852, it became the largest Nordic producer of small beer in the 1880s prior to its merger with several other breweries under the name De Forenede Bryggerier in 1891. Its buildings remained in use until 1999. They were converted into apartments in the 1990s. The two buildings that front the street are heritage listed.
