Slingshot Dakota is an American rock band from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Slingshot Dakota formed in Long Island in 2003 as a three-piece, issuing their debut, Keener Sighs, in 2004. At the time, the group was composed of Carly Comando, Pat Schramm (of the band Latterman) and Jeff Cunningham. In the spring of 2005, Schramm was replaced by Patterson. In the fall of 2006, Cunningham left the band, and the band remained a two-piece. In November 2007, the band released its sophomore effort, Their Dreams Are Dead, but Ours Is the Golden Ghost!. Mars were an American, New York City-based no wave experimental noise rock band, formed in 1975 when China Burg and artist Nancy Arlen (drums) brought Mark Cunningham (bass) and vocalist Sumner Crane together to talk about music. They were joined briefly by guitarist Rudolph Grey. The band played one live gig under the name China before changing it to Mars. They played a mixture of angular compositions and freeform noise music jams, featuring surrealist lyrics and non-standard drumming. All the members were said to be completely untrained in music before forming the band.

The Grates were an Australian indie rock band that formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 2002. Kicking Television: Live in Chicago is a live album by Chicago alternative rock band Wilco, released on November 15, 2005, by Nonesuch Records. Although the band filmed the concerts, they decided not to release the footage as a DVD. It was the band's first album with an expanded lineup featuring Nels Cline and Pat Sansone.

Richard Allen Stuverud Jr. is an American drummer from Seattle, Washington. He lives in Oakland, California where he writes, arranges and produces songs. Due to Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron testing positive for COVID-19, Stuverud played with Pearl Jam on several shows of the Gigaton Tour in May of 2022. He shared substitute drumming duties during these shows with Josh Klinghoffer.

Fake Problems were a four-piece indie rock band from Naples, Florida. They released their first full-length album, How Far Our Bodies Go, on Sabot Productions on April 27, 2007. Their second record, It's Great to Be Alive, was released through Side One Dummy Records on February 17, 2009. Their third record Real Ghosts Caught On Tape was released September 21, 2010, also on Sideonedummy. The band broke up in 2014.

Between 1975 and 1978, the group had undergone several line-up changes, including adding Butch Vig as a drummer. Extremely popular in Madison, and able to draw in crowds in other Midwestern cities, Spooner released two well-received albums, Every Corner Dance and The Wildest Dreams and toured intensively throughout the Midwest to promote them.

Tender Defender is considered by many to be a continuation of Latterman. The band released their self-titled debut on Dead Broke Rekerds on March 3, 2016.
