Smriti Narayan Chaudhary is a Nepalese politician and a member of the Provincial Assembly of Province No. 2. [2] He was elected to the Pratinidhi Sabha in the 1999 election on behalf of the Nepali Congress under the FPTP voting system. He was elected to the Pratinidhi Sabha from the proportional list of the party. He is a leader close to the NC Vice-president and former Deputy Prime-minister Bimalendra Nidhi . [3] They both come from the same district and municipality.

The House of Representatives, or Pratinidhi Sabha is the one of the houses of the Federal Parliament of Nepal,with the other house being the National Assembly. Members of the House of Representatives are elected through a parallel voting system. They hold their seats for five years or until the body is dissolved by the President on the advice of the council of ministers. The house meets in the International Convention Centre in Kathmandu.
The National Assembly or Rastriya Sabha is the upper house of the Federal Parliament of Nepal,the lower house being the House of Representatives. The composition and powers of the Assembly are established by Part 8 and 9 of the Constitution of Nepal. There are a total of 59 members:8 members are elected from each of the seven provinces by an electoral college of each province,and three are appointed by the President on recommendation of the government.
General elections were held in Nepal on 12 May 1991,to elect 205 members to the House of Representatives. The elections were the first multi-party elections since 1959. The 1990 Nepalese revolution successfully made King Birendra to restore a multi-party system after King Mahendra had established the Rastriya Panchayat when he dissolved the parliament in December 1960.
General elections were held in Nepal on 15 November 1994 to elect the Nepal House of Representatives. The election took place after the previous Nepali Congress government collapsed and King Birenda called new elections. The results saw the Communist Party of Nepal win the most seats in the House of Representatives and Man Mohan Adhikari became Prime Minister at the head of a minority government.
