Ehren River Wright (born December 17, 1989), known by his stage name SoDown, is an American electronic music producer, DJ, and saxophone player.

Early life

As a Boulder, Colorado native, Ehren Wright (SoDown) grew up listening to hip hop, funk, soul, and reggae, drawing on influences from Wu-tang Clan, Method Man, The Meters, Parliament, and James Brown. [1]

Career

Wright began his exploration into electronic music after seeing Pretty Lights perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado in 2010. [1] In 2017, SoDown announced his debut performance at the very place he had become introduced to the scene performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre supporting Pretty Lights on August 11, 2017. [2] "Red Rocks kick started my whole interest in music. It really pushed me in this direction, so to come back and play with Pretty Lights and Manic Focus was full circle". [3]

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is an open-air amphitheatre in the western United States near Morrison, Colorado, approximately ten miles (16 km) southwest of Denver, which owns and operates it. Derek Vincent Smith, known by his stage name Pretty Lights, is an American electronic music producer. Pretty Lights was originally a music project consisting of Smith and Michal Menert, who left after the release of their first album. Rick Rubin once described Pretty Lights as "the face and voice of the new American electronic music scene".

Taelor Deitcher, better known by his stage name Felix Cartal, is a Canadian DJ and electronic dance music producer. He released his first EP Skeleton in 2009 once he signed with Dim Mak Records. Since then he has gone on to release four full-length albums, 2010's Popular Music, 2012's Different Faces, 2018's Next Season, and 2021's Expensive Sounds for Nice People. Cartal has toured with Wolfgang Gartner, MSTRKRFT, and Bloody Beetroots. Cartal set the trend of collaborating with unpredictable vocalists in the dance scene such as Sebastien Grainger of Death from Above 1979, Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds and Johnny Whitney of The Blood Brothers.

Michal Menert is a Polish-born American electronic music producer and the founder of Super Best Records. He was also the first artist on the Pretty Lights Music label and was an integral part of Pretty Lights, producing Pretty Lights debut album, Taking Up Your Precious Time as well as contributing to several tracks after his official departure from the project. Menert tours with a 7 piece band including MC, violin, and DJ.

Joe Russo's Almost Dead is an American rock band formed in 2013 that mainly covers the music of the Grateful Dead. Formed by Furthur and Benevento/Russo Duo drummer Joe Russo, the band played their first show on January 26, 2013 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, New York. He has released three albums, the first of which was nominated for the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year in 2018. He has collaborated with major EDM artists including Illenium, Said the Sky, Seven Lions and Slander.
