The Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores (or SPA) translated as Portuguese Society of Authors is a limited liability cooperative, founded in Portugal in 1925 to manage copyrights. [1] [2]

Maria de Fátima de Bivar Velho da Costa was a Portuguese writer who was awarded the Camões Prize in 2002. She took part in the Portuguese Feminist Movement, and became one of the authors of the book Novas Cartas Portugesas, together with Maria Teresa Horta and Maria Isabel Barreno. The authors, known as the "Three Marias," were arrested, jailed and prosecuted under Portuguese censorship laws in 1972, during the last years of the Estado Novo dictatorship. The book and their trial inspired protests in Portugal and attracted international attention from European and American women's liberation groups in the years leading up to the Carnation Revolution.

Rui Manuel Reininho Braga best known as Rui Reininho is a Portuguese singer. Since 1981, he has been the lead vocalist of Portuguese rock band GNR. As a singer-songwriter of numerous lyrics and songs, he is one of the most beloved, and often controversial, icons of the Portuguese rock scene. Johannes Gossweiler aka John Gossweiler or João Gossweiler, was state botanist to the Government of Angola from 1899 until his death. He made important collections in every district of Angola and created the first phytogeographic map of that country. His collections of African plant specimens were sent regularly to Lisbon, the British Museum, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and the University of Coimbra. Duplicates were also kept at the Herbarium of the Instituto de Investigação Agronómica in Angola. Today, many herbaria contain specimens he collected.
