The Society of Neuroscientists of Africa (SONA) is a non-profit organisation registered in Nairobi, Kenya, which acts as the umbrella organisation for different neuroscience groups and societies in Africa. [1] They organise the bi-annual SONA conference. [2] The current president of the society is Prof. James Olukayode Olopade. [3] [4]
SONA was founded in 1993 by James Kimani. [5] The goal of the society is to promote neuroscience research and teaching in Africa. [6] In its history the society has organised 14 international meetings in Africa, of which the first was organized in 1993. [7]

The International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) is the global federation of neuroscience organizations that aims to promote and support neuroscience around the world through training, teaching, collaborative research, advocacy and outreach. More than 90 international, national and regional scientific organisations constitute IBRO’s Governing Council which, together with the five IBRO Regional Committees, address the needs and advance the work of individual scientists and research communities everywhere. In addition, IBRO has partnerships with like-minded scientific societies and organizations to identify priorities and help bridge gaps in knowledge, investment and resources in the field of brain research.
The African Crop Science Journal, a quarterly publication, publishes original research papers dealing with all aspects of crop agronomy, production, genetics and breeding, germplasm, crop protection, post harvest systems and utilisation, agro-forestry, crop-animal interactions, information science, environmental science and soil science. The Journal also accepts "short communications" dealing with original results not warranting publication as full papers, book reviews and has an advertisement section. To encourage dialogue on topical issues, the Journal has a "Forum" section. It is bilingual, publishing in either English or French.

The Entebbe–Kampala Expressway, also known as the "Kampala–Entebbe Expressway" or the "Entebbe–Kampala Highway", is a four-lane toll highway in the Central Region of Uganda. The highway links Entebbe International Airport, the country's largest civilian and military airport, to Kampala, the country's capital and largest metropolitan area. Commissioning was originally planned for 2016 but because of the delayed works, commissioning was done on 15 June 2018 by Uganda's sitting President, Yoweri Museveni.
Doreen Baingana is a Ugandan short story writer and editor. Her book Tropical Fish won the 2006 Commonwealth Writers' Prize, best first book, Africa Region, and the AWP Award for Short Fiction (US). She won a Washington Independent Writers Fiction Prize and has twice been a finalist for the Caine Prize for African Writing. She was managing Editor at Story Moja, and was one of the 2013 Commonwealth Short Story Prize judges. She gave a talk for TED 2013 about "The role of offensive language in novels" Baingana's work has appeared in many journals and publications, including the African American Review, Callaloo, The Guardian, and elsewhere.
Beti Olive Namisango Kamya-Turomwe, also known as Betty Kamya and Beti Kamya, is a businesswoman and politician in Uganda, the third-largest economy in the East African Community. She is the Cabinet Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development in the Cabinet of Uganda, since 14 December 2019.
The Africa Military Games was a multi-sport event for military athletes in Africa. The one-off event was held under the auspices of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) and, its sister group, the Organization of Military Sport in Africa (OSMA). The games was hosted by Kenya in and around Nairobi between 17–27 April 2002.

Aerolink Uganda, is a privately owned airline in Uganda, licensed by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority with an air operator's certificate. The airline specializes in transporting tourists to Uganda's National Parks, saving the visitors' time and allowing them to see more.
Uganda Airlines is the flag carrier of Uganda. The company is a revival of the older Uganda Airlines which operated from 1977 until 2001. It began flying in August 2019.
The 2020 ACA Africa T20 Cup Finals is a forthcoming cricket tournament due to be held in Nairobi, Kenya. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in September 2019, but was eventually moved to March 2020. On 9 March 2020, the tournament was postponed again due to the coronavirus pandemic, in line with the Kenyan government's 30-day ban on international gatherings.
