The Space & Satellite Professionals International or SSPI is a nonprofit organization, made up of members who work as professionals in the satellite industry throughout their careers. [1] It is headquartered in New York City, United States. SSPI has Chapters and Affiliates in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
The Space & Satellite Professionals International was founded in the US in 1983, with Sir Arthur C. Clarke, creator of the satellite concept, as its honorary chairman. [2] It was founded to serve as a professional network in a young industry that was on the verge of substantial growth. Today, SSPI has over 3,000 members in more than 40 nations.
SSPI currently recognizes individuals and organizations for their contribution to the space industry through five different awards.
In 2013, the SSPI included five new members in its Satellite Hall of Fame. They were Romain Bausch, Robert Zitter, Susan Irwin, U. R. Rao, [3] and Dick Tauber.

For a professional in the bluegrass music field, election to the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame is the highest honor the genre can bestow. An invitation can be extended to performers, songwriters, promoters, broadcasters, musicians, and executives in recognition of their contributions to the development of bluegrass music worldwide. The hall of fame honor was created in 1991 by the International Bluegrass Music Association and the inductees are honored annually at the International Bluegrass Music Awards ceremony. The Hall's first inductees were Bill Monroe, widely considered as the founder of the genre, and Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, two of bluegrass music's most pioneering and influential artists. The most recent inductees are Katy Daley, Jerry Douglas, and Alan Munde. The Hall itself is maintained at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky. The institution received its current name in 2007, and was known prior to this as the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Honor.

After working in retail and fashion in New York City and Denver, Colorado, she opened Jean Yancey & Associates in the latter city in 1973, offering training, consulting, and education for women entrepreneurs. In close to 30 years, she assisted more than 1,000 women launching businesses in public relations, advertising, politics, publishing, and other fields, and was known in Denver as "the mother of all businesswomen". She received many awards, including the 1982 National Advocate for Women in Small Businesses award presented by US President Ronald Reagan in a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 1985.
