Episodes focus on her adventures and bonds with others, including her animal friends, with whom she communicates through an amulet that blesses and curses her based upon the goodness of her actions. The series aimed to employ relatable situations in a fantasy world; according to Gerber, Sofia's position as a child of a single mother allowed the team to explore themes of adaptation and connect to modern children. The series pilot premiered on November 18, 2012, on Disney Channel. The series itself premiered on January 11, 2013, on Disney Junior, aired for four seasons, and concluded on September 8, 2018.

On October 24, 2016, Osment announced via Twitter that Young & Hungry was renewed for a fifth season. On March 15, 2018, it was officially announced that the fifth season would be the last. The final ten episodes premiered on June 20, 2018, and concluded on July 25, 2018. A series finale movie was initially announced with the cancellation, but was scrapped on August 24, 2018. Young & Hungry received generally mixed reviews from critics.

The series is the first Disney Channel Original Series based on a Disney Channel Original Movie. It picks up after the first film and introduces new characters from the Isle of the Lost and Auradon. Descendants: Wicked World ended on March 3, 2017. It received generally positive reviews from critics.
The Ghost and Molly McGee is an American animated supernatural comedy television series created by Bill Motz and Bob Roth for Disney Channel. A sneak peek of the show's theme song was first shown on May 1, 2021, during the network's "Halfway to Halloween" event, followed by the show's premiere on October 1, 2021. On August 31, 2021, more than a month before it premiered, the series was renewed for a second season, which premiered on April 1, 2023.
