Sofia Pernas is an American actress who currently resides in Los Angeles. [1] She starred in the NBC series The Brave and in the CBS action adventure series Blood & Treasure .

Early life

Pernas moved to the United States when she was five years old and grew up in Orange County, California. Her mother is from Morocco, while her father is from Spain; both are multilingual. As a result, she speaks five languages: Arabic, English, Spanish, French and German. Although she initially planned a career in journalism, she was redirected to a career in modeling and acting after being scouted. [2]

Career

Pernas played Marisa Sierras on The Young and the Restless from 2015 to 2017, and appeared on the telenovela Jane the Virgin from 2016 to 2017. She starred as Hannah Rivera in the NBC series The Brave from 2017 to 2018, and played Lexi Vaziri on the CBS series Blood & Treasure from 2019 until its cancellation in 2022. [3]

Personal life

Pernas began dating her former The Young and the Restless co-star Justin Hartley in May 2020. [4] They married in March 2021. [5] [6]

Blood & Treasure is an American action adventure television series created by Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia that premiered on May 21, 2019 on CBS. Federman and Scaia also serve as writers and executive producers alongside Taylor Elmore, Ben Silverman, Marc Webb, and Mark Vlasic. In June 2019, CBS renewed the series for a second season. In May 2022, it was announced that the series moved from CBS to Paramount+. The second season premiered on Paramount+ on July 17, 2022. In February 2023, the series was canceled after two seasons.

Episode 11,000 is an episode of the The Young and the Restless. It aired on September 1, 2016 on CBS. This special episode was heavily promoted and teased in order to celebrate the soap opera's milestone. The episode featured the return of Tristan Rogers and Michael Graziadei as Colin Atkinson and Daniel Romalotti, respectively, and marked the beginning of Nichelle Nichols's guest stint as Lucinda Winters, the estranged mother of Neil Winters. The episode also featured a cameo from the soap's co-creator, Lee Phillip Bell. The plot revolved around Neil and Lucinda's reunion, the exposure of Phyllis Summers and Billy Abbott's affair and Chloe Mitchell's plan to kill Adam Newman, among other stories. The episode also marked the last appearance of Hartley as Adam, whose departure had not been confirmed beforehand. Michael Fairman from On-Air On-Soaps praised the episode and called it the best episode of the year in American soap operas.
