Sofie Lena Zdebel (born 8 August 2004) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Frauen-Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Club career

Zdebel joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2018. She was promoted to the first team in July 2020. [2] She made her professional debut for the club on 5 March 2021 in a 4–2 league win against 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam. [3] In January 2022, she extended her contract with the club until June 2024. [4]

In May 2024, Zdebel signed a two-year contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2026. [5]

International career

As a youth international, Zdebel was part of the German squad at the 2022 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship and the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. [6] On 1 September 2024, she made her FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup debut in a 5–2 win against Venezuela and was named as the player of the match. [7]

Personal life

Zdebel is the daughter of former professional footballer Tomasz Zdebel. [8]
