Joshua Iniyezo (born 8 November 1988), better known by his stage name SolidStar Isoko or simply SolidStar, is a Nigerian singer. He began his musical career as a drummer for a local church in his hometown of Delta State. SolidStar is popularly known across Nigeria and Africa for his hit song "One in a Million". He got signed by Ossy Achievas.

In 2010, he released his debut album One in a Million which went on to become a huge hit. The remix of the single "One in a Million" there after featuring Africa's legend 2face Idibia. He has followed up this feat with several hit singles later on down the line.

Early life

SolidStar, who is known for his ability to sing fluently in English, Isoko and Igbo, was born in Delta State, Nigeria, to Mr. and Mrs. Iniyezo. His family originated from Aviara town. [2] SolidStar began his music career at the age of 14 when he started playing the drums for his church choir in Aviara. He was discovered a few years later at a music talent show in Ajegunle area of Lagos State where he was introduced to Paul Cole a record label boss. [3] In 2010, SolidStar formally signs to Achievas Record and his debut album was subsequently released under the label.

Career

In 2010, SolidStar released his debut album One in a Million through Achievas Music. The album was a hit fueled by its lead single "One in a Million", which was a collaboration with 2face Idibia. [4]

The 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards took place on 31 August 2014, at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. The eligibility period was from March 2013 to March 2014. In April 2014, the NEA reviewing committee began collecting submissions for the 2014 edition. The deadline for submission was April 30, 2014, and the nominations were announced on May 29, 2014. Tiwa Savage and Davido received the most nominations with 5 each. Don Jazzy, Flavour N'abania and Wizkid all got four nominations each, while Olamide, Patoranking, Chidinma and Oritse Femi followed closely with three nominations.

<i>Versus</i> (9ice album) 2011 studio album by 9ice

Versus, also known by the longer title Versus: The Battle Line Is Drawn, is the fourth studio album by Nigerian indigenous artist 9ice. It was released on 7 December 2011 by Alapomeji Ancestral Records, alongside Bashorun Gaa. The album features a blend of Afrobeat and hip hop. The album was titled Versus because many artists are featured on the album, in which, 9ice is "versing" them, when, really, he's featuring them on his songs. Notable artists were featured on the album, including 2Baba, Banky W., Duncan Mighty, Seriki, Mode 9, V.I.P, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Dagrin, M.I, Ajayi Brovas, Kwaw Kese, Timaya, Kwam 1, and Wizboyy. The producers that worked on the album include ID Cabasa, Puffy Tee, Tee-Y Mix, Cheepho, Spellz, Duncan Mighty, E.L, and D'Tunes. The fifth track off the album, Iya Alariya, was supposed to feature veteran musician King Sunny Adé, but the label failed to make time to get Adé and 9ice in the studio.

<i>Warriors</i> (2Baba album) 2020 studio album by 2Baba

Warriors is the eighth studio album by Nigerian musician 2Baba. The album was released on 28 February 2020 by Hypertek Digital, and features guest appearances from Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Peruzzi, Olamide, Syemca and AJ Natives. Production was notably handled by Spellz, Boliji Beatz, Blaq Jerzee, Jay Sleek, Speroach Beatz, Pbankz, Ploops and Richie. The album serves as a follow-up to Rewind, Select, Update (2015).

<i>Lasso of Truth</i> (album) 2013 studio album by Omawumi

Lasso of Truth is the second studio album by Nigerian singer Omawumi. It was released on 23 March 2013 through Oma Records and features guest appearances from Timaya, Wizkid, Flavour, 2Face Idibia, and Afay. Production was handled by Cobhams Asuquo, Don Jazzy, Sizzle Pro, Oscar Heman-Ackah, Young D, Sarz, and Soso Soberekon on the standard edition, with additional production from E Kelly and Philkeyz on the deluxe edition. Lasso of Truth serves as a follow-up to Omawumi's debut, Wonder Woman (2009). The deluxe edition of the album was released on 12 September 2013.
