Melchor Rodríguez García, was a Spanish politician, a notable anarcho-syndicalist, and the head of prison authorities in Madrid during the Spanish Civil War. Paul Preston in his book "The Spanish Holocaust" describes Melchor Rodríguez García as having been a bullfighter until he was gored. No details are given. He was the last Mayor of Madrid before the Francoist forces took over the city.
The Battle of Málaga was the culmination of an offensive in early 1937 by the combined Nationalist and Italian forces to eliminate Republican control of the province of Málaga during the Spanish Civil War. The participation of Moroccan regulars and Italian tanks from the recently arrived Corpo Truppe Volontarie resulted in a complete rout of the Spanish Republican Army and the capitulation of Málaga in less than a week.

La Línea is a highway tunnel between the cities of Calarcá, Quindío and Cajamarca, Tolima in Colombia. It crosses beneath the locally famous "Alto de La Línea" in the Cordillera Central or central range of the Andes mountains, easing traffic on one of Colombia's main east-west road connections which links Bogotá with Cali and the Pacific port of Buenaventura. It is the longest road tunnel in Latin America, and in the Americas, well ahead of the 13,300 ft (4,100 m) Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel which is the longest road tunnel in North America. The total length of the tunnel is 8,652 metres (28,386 ft), its western entrance being at 2,420 metres (7,940 ft) above msl, 19 kilometres (12 mi) east of the city of Armenia and the eastern one at 2,505 metres (8,219 ft) above msl, at 37.8 kilometres (23.5 mi) west of Ibagué. Constructions of the pilot tunnel started on 30 September 2004 and both sides of the pilot met on 2 August 2008. In September 2007 Ministry of Transport launched the tender process for the construction of tunnel and connecting roads. Construction work started in December 2008 in head of Union Temporal Segundo Centenario led by Carlos Collins and was originally expected to finish in 2016. In May 2016, the opening was delayed to 2018. The tunnel was finally opened on 4 September 2020, after 14 years of construction work, at a total cost of around 2.9 trillion pesos.
Nuevos Ministerios is a major multimodal rail station on the Madrid Metro and the Cercanías Madrid commuter rail network. It is located beneath the Nuevos Ministerios government complex and the AZCA financial centre at the junction of the Paseo de la Castellana and Joaquín Costa and Raimundo Fernández Villaverde streets in Madrid, Spain. The Vielha tunnel is a road tunnel in Spain, connecting Vielha, the capital of the Aran valley, with the Alta Ribagorça comarca. It is part of the N-230 road and consists of two parallel tunnels. The older one, named Alfonso XIII Tunnel in honour of Spanish king Alfonso XIII, was opened in 1948 and became the longest road tunnel in the world, with a length of 5240 metres, until 1964, when the Great St Bernard Tunnel was inaugurated.
The Engaña Tunnel is a never-completed railway tunnel in Spain, connecting the provinces of Burgos and Cantabria through the Cantabrian Mountains. The tunnel was part of the proposed Santander–Mediterranean railway line, an attempt by the Spanish government to connect the Bay of Biscay with the Mediterranean Sea. The construction lasted for over seventeen years, from 1941 to 1959, employing hundreds of workers, including Republican prisoners during the first years. At the time of its construction, it was the longest railway tunnel in Spain, with a length of 6,976 metres (22,887 ft), but was never completed as the rails were never laid.
Teatro Español is a public theater administered by the Government of Madrid, Spain. The prime location was an open-air theater in medieval times where small venues and some theatrical pieces, which formed famous classical literature in later years, were staged. Its establishment was authorized by a decree of Philip II in 1565.
Príncipe Pío is a multimodal station in Madrid, Spain that services Madrid Metro's Line 6, Line 10, and Ramal; Cercanías Madrid's commuter rail lines C-1, C-7, and C-10; and city buses and intercity and long-distance coaches. Somosierra is a municipality in the Community of Madrid, Spain, located at 83 km north of Madrid, in the mountain pass with the same name, at an elevation of 1433 metres above sea level, being the northernmost town of Community of Madrid.
