Sopot is a residential neighbourhood of Zagreb, Croatia. It is part of the Novi Zagreb - istok district and it has a population of 7,428 (2011). [1]
Sopot was one of the earliest parts of Novi Zagreb to be built. It consists almost entirely of tower blocks and blocks of flats, surrounded by birch trees and poplars.
The Zagreb tram route for Lines 7 and 14 runs along its northern edge, on Avenue Dubrovnik, and Line 6 has its turning point there.

The Remetinec Roundabout is a large roundabout in the Novi Zagreb – zapad part of Zagreb, Croatia. Having three lanes, with an outer radius of 74 metres (243 ft), it connects Adriatic Bridge, Jadranska Avenue, Dubrovnik Avenue, and Remetinec Road. Inside traffic has the right of way, but the rightmost approaching lanes from the north, east and southwest are separated from the exiting traffic, reducing congestion for those three immediate right turns. The roundabout itself is elevated from the ground level and two tram lines and several pedestrian tracks pass underneath it.
Blato is a neighborhood located in the Novi Zagreb - zapad city district of Zagreb, Croatia. It is spread along the Karlovačka Road, south of Jadranska Avenue. The population is 2,553 (2011).
Dubrovnik Avenue is an avenue located in the Novi Zagreb part of Zagreb, Croatia. It is mostly six or eight lanes wide. Built in the mid 1950s, it runs for 4 kilometers between the roundabout beneath the southward extension of the Youth Bridge in the east and the Remetinec Roundabout in the west of Novi Zagreb. Its most important intersections are those with Većeslav Holjevac and Germany Avenues. Being the main east–west thoroughfare of Novi Zagreb, more than 40,000 commuters travel on it daily.
Botinec is a neighborhood located in Novi Zagreb - zapad city district of Zagreb, Croatia. It is famous for having its streets named after famous character from Croatian theater plays and novels. It was founded in 1965 as a refugee camp after the 1964 flood, owing its rectangular street grid to the era of building Novi Zagreb. It was away from the city and away from Sava River, with barracks meant to serve as a camp only for up to six years, but the houses were eventually bought by the tenants and upgraded. Nonetheless, Botinec remains a neighborhood bearing the scar of the flood. Botinec is divided in two parts: Old Botinec and New Botinec. According to the 2001 census, Botinec had 4,906 inhabitants.
Utrina is a residential neighborhood located in the Novi Zagreb - istok district of Zagreb, Croatia. It is bordered by Avenija Dubrovnik on the north side, Ulica Savezne Republike Njemačke on the west side, Ukrajinska ulica on the south side, and Sarajevska cesta on the east side. It has a population of 7,749 (2011).
Remetinec is a neighborhood in the Novi Zagreb – zapad city district of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It is located south of the Remetinec Roundabout and Lanište, west of Trokut and the railway triangle and west of Blato. It has a population of 5673(2021). Zagreb Fair and Zagreb Hippodrome are located nearby Remetinec.
Kajzerica is a neighborhood located in the Novi Zagreb – zapad city district of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It is located west of Bundek Lake and east of the Western Rotary and Adriatic Bridge. It has a population of 4,387 (2011).
Jakuševec is a neighborhood in the Novi Zagreb – istok city district of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Located on Sajmišna Road east of Sarajevska Road and Utrine, Travno and Dugave apartment block complexes, the neighborhood is mostly uninhabited, with an area of 455.21 ha and a total population of around 2,000. It is the site of the city's largest landfill, the city's biggest used car market and the Zlatni Konj art gallery. The first records of inhabitants in Jakuševec area date back to 1334 as "Parochia Sancti Marci Ev. in campo", which is the name recorded up to 1501. At that time, the parish' name is changed to "Parocha Sancti Marci Ev. in spinis". However, during the leadership of pastor Josip Vitković, the parish is renamed in 1871 to "Parish of Jakuševec" . Jakuševec remained a standalone village until 1991 when it was integrated along with several adjacent villages into the City of Zagreb.
Zagreb Fair is a complex of exhibition pavilions in Zagreb, Croatia. The company which operates the venue carries the same name. The Zagreb Fair is the main venue in Zagreb for trade shows and fairs. Every year more than 25 specialised events are held at the venue, attended by more than 6,000 participants from 50 countries. Apart from trade fairs it is also used as a convention center.
