DJ Maxi Jazz release The Soul Food Cafe System in 1984, having discovered hip hop a year earlier.
In 1989 DJ Maxi Jazz was picked up by Tam Tam Records, which is the dance wing of Savage Records), and the album Original Groovejuice, Vol. 1 [1] was recorded.

Faithless are an English electronic band formed in London, England in 1994 by Maxi Jazz, Sister Bliss and Rollo. The current, official lineup of the band consists of Bliss And Rollo. The group is best known for the songs "Salva Mea", "Insomnia", "God Is a DJ" and "We Come 1". Faithless has released seven studio albums, with total sales of the first six exceeding 15 million records worldwide. The band announced they would split up after their Passing the Baton dates at Brixton Academy on 7 and 8 April 2011. However, in February 2015, Sister Bliss and Rollo reunited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band, while Maxi Jazz started up a new band Maxi Jazz & The E-Type Boys the same year.
"Fast Food Song" is a song made famous by British-based band the Fast Food Rockers, although it existed long before they recorded it, as a popular children's playground song. The chorus was based on the Moroccan folk tune "A Ram Sam Sam". It mentions the fast food restaurants McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut.

Birdy Nam Nam are a DJ crew from France. Birdy Nam Nam has won several prizes throughout their career including the DMC Technics 2002 World TEAM Championships. Birdy Nam Nam's goal is to use the turntable player as an actual musical instrument. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2006 on Uncivilized World Records, and in March that year they performed at the internationally renowned music conference SXSW. The group's name is taken from a line in the 1968 Peter Sellers film The Party, directed by Blake Edwards.

It was originally released in 1995 and reached number 27 on the UK Singles Chart, topping the UK Dance Chart in the process. When re-released in 1996, the song achieved a new peak of number three in the United Kingdom and topped the charts of Finland, Norway, and Switzerland, as well as the American and Canadian dance charts. It also featured on Faithless's debut 1996 album Reverence.

The song managed to peak at No. 9 in the United Kingdom and chart within the top 40 in Australia, Italy, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. The first few lines of Williams' lyrics are the same as a part of the hidden track "Hello Sir" from his debut album, Life thru a Lens.
"The X-Files" is a 1996 instrumental recorded by American film and television composer Mark Snow. It is a remixed version of the original theme Snow composed for the science fiction television series The X-Files in 1993. Released in March 1996 in several countries, it achieved major success, particularly in France, where it reached number one on the singles chart. The composition has since been covered by many artists, including DJ Dado and Triple X; DJ Dado's version was a major hit in Europe while Triple X's version reached number two in Australia.
"Don't You Want Me" is a song recorded by British DJ and producer Francis Wright, known under the pseudonym of Felix. It was released as his debut single from his album #1 in late 1992. Musically, it samples Jomanda's "Don't You Want My Love" and credited as Felix featuring Jomanda. It topped the charts in Finland, Spain and Switzerland. It also went to number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and on the European Hot 100 Singles chart. In addition, it reached number six on the UK Singles Chart. In 1995 and 1996, the song charted again, but in remixed form. British magazine Mixmag ranked the song at number 98 in its 100 Greatest Dance Singles Of All Time list in 1996.
Ronald K. Keys Jr. aka DJ Swamp is an American hip hop DJ, turntablist, producer and vocalist. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. He currently resides in Los Angeles, United States. In 1996, he won the title of US DMC Champion, his first year entering the tournament. Swamp toured with Beck for four years and later broke away into a solo career with his release "Never is Now" in 2001. Alternative Press gave "Never is Now" an 8/10 rating.
DJ Food is an electronic music project currently headed by Kevin Foakes. Originally conceived by the members of Coldcut on the Ninja Tune independent record label, the project started in 1990 on the premise of providing metaphorical "food for DJs". DJ Food released the Jazz Brakes series, with Jazz Brakes Volume 3 being the most successful. The records consisted of collections of breaks, loops and samples that could be used for mixing, remixing and producing.
