Souls of We (also known as George Lynch's Souls of We) is an American hard rock supergroup from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2007. The lineup consists of London LeGrand (vocals), George Lynch (guitar) and Johny Chow (bass). Since 2009, Jordan Mancino has been the band's drummer, replacing Yael.

London LeGrand had previously sent audition tapes for George Lynch's post-Dokken band Lynch Mob. Though unsuccessful, they both began working together years later in the band Microdot. LeGrand soon joined Brides of Destruction in 2002, effectively ending Microdot. When Brides of Destruction went on hiatus in 2006, Lynch and LeGrand put together a new band called Band of Flakes with Jason Slater, of Snake River Conspiracy, and Scot Coogan, formerly of Brides of Destruction. The band proved to be unsuccessful, however, Lynch and LeGrand continued, forming Souls of We with bassist Johny Chow, of Fireball Ministry, Systematic and Cavalera Conspiracy, as well as drummer Yael, formerly of Tom Morello and Alex Skolnick, in 2007.

Souls of We released their debut album, Let the Truth Be Known , in 2008 before making their live debut in March 2009. They started writing and recording their second album in February 2010.

History

Formation (1989–2007)

Guitarist George Lynch was previously a member of Dokken from the late 70's to late 80's. Following the breakup of the band in 1989, [1] Lynch formed Lynch Mob with former Dokken bandmate Mick Brown. [1] When Lynch Mob were auditioning for singers, London LeGrand send in an audition tape. [2] [3] However, the band never contacted LeGrand. [2]

Lynch eventually met LeGrand while he was working as a hair stylist in Los Angeles [3] [4] [5] where Lynch gave him a demo tape of new songs. [6] Lynch went on to form a project known as Stonehouse [3] [7] before forming Microdot with LeGrand. [7] [8] It was at this time that LeGrand joined Brides of Destruction, [7] [8] [9] formed by Nikki Sixx and Tracii Guns, in 2002. [9]

When Guns put Brides of Destruction on hiatus in 2006, [10] LeGrand formed Rockstars on Mars [11] as well as Band of Flakes [7] with Lynch, Jason Slater of Snake River Conspiracy [7] and former Brides of Destruction [9] bandmate Scot Coogan. [7] Though the band was unsuccessful, Lynch and LeGrand continued to write and record, bringing in bassist Johny Chow [7] of Fireball Ministry and Systematic [6] as well as former Tom Morello and Alex Skolnick drummer Yael, [6] [7] forming Souls of We, from one of their song's lyrics, in 2007. Let the Truth Be Known (2007–2009)

The band recorded their album at various studios [6] and was produced by both Lynch and LeGrand and mixed by Mudrock. [6] [13] The album featured material from previous projects Stonehouse, [3] [7] Microdot [7] [8] and Band of Flakes [7] as well as contributions by Jeff Pilson [13] [14] Morgan Rose, [3] [6] Frédéric Leclercq, [3] [13] Andrew Freeman, [13] Patrick Johansson, [13] Bobby Jarzombek [13] and Mike Hansen. [13]

Let the Truth Be Known was first released independently through Under the Deadtree Records [13] on May 27, 2008. [15] It was limited to a thousand copies and featured album artwork with blues musician Robert Johnson on the cover. [7] After signing with Shrapnel Records, [16] the album was re-released, under the moniker of George Lynch's Souls of We, [11] with an additional song on November 4 the same year. [16] LeGrand described the album as "Mother Love Bone in the year 2008" [11] while Greg Prato of allmusic stated that "[t]here are quite a few headbanging highlights" and that "fans would buy [Lynch's] latest album for the six-string shredwork alone." [16]

The band were offered a supporting slot on the Black Label Society and Sevendust tour, [7] [8] that took place in March 2009, [8] but turned it down due to financial reasons. [7] They made their live debut on May 23, 2009 at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California with Jordan Mancino, of As I Lay Dying, replacing Yael on drums. [17] The band scheduled more tour dates, [18] [19] primarily in California, while they released a music video for the song "Skeleton Key". [20]

New album (2010–present)

Lynch announced on his Twitter page, in February 2010, that he and LeGrand had "commenced the songwriting sessions" for the band's second album and were to enter the studio the same month. [21] [22] [23] He also stated the Souls of We were to begin touring on March 5. [21]

Formed in 2006, initially to record an audio accompaniment to Sixx's autobiography The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star, his side band Sixx:A.M. featured songwriter, producer, and vocalist James Michael and guitarist DJ Ashba.

<i>Here Come the Brides</i> (album) 2004 studio album by Brides of Destruction

Here Come the Brides is the debut album by Brides of Destruction released via Sanctuary Records on March 9, 2004. It is their most successful album being the only one to have a charting on the Billboard 200, it is also the only album that features bassist Nikki Sixx who would leave the band to rejoin Mötley Crüe for their reunion tour in 2005, and also the only album to feature John Corabi. The album's only single, "Shut The Fuck Up" failed to chart due to little airplay. "Only Get So Far" was originally written by Nikki Sixx for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Edward "London" LeGrand is an American musician, lyricist, and vocalist best known for his time with hard rock supergroup Brides of Destruction with Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe and Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns. After the group went on hiatus he formed another band with George Lynch of Dokken and Lynch Mob fame called Souls of We releasing their debut album Let the Truth Be Known in 2008. He also has a side-project named Rockstars on Mars whose demos can be heard on the band's Myspace page.

He joined the band in 1990, only to leave after the release of the first album. He rejoined in the late 2000s, then subsequently left and rejoined several times, with his final stint in the band lasting until their 2020 retirement.

Let the Truth Be Known is the debut album by hard rock supergroup Souls of We released on May 27, 2008 via the group's official website with the first 1000 copies, with blues musician Robert Johnson inspired album artwork, signed by members London LeGrand and George Lynch. The album was later released on November 4 of the same year, through Shrapnel Records, under the moniker "George Lynch's Souls of We" with new album artwork, a rearranged track listing as well the additional track "Nork 13". The album was self-produced in various studios around Los Angeles and mixed by Mudrock, who has work with bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and Godsmack.

KXM is an American hard rock supergroup formed in 2013, consisting of Korn drummer Ray Luzier, King's X bassist/vocalist dUg Pinnick and Lynch Mob/ex-Dokken guitarist George Lynch. Signed to Rat Pak Records, they have released a self-titled album in 2014, Scatterbrain in 2017 and Circle of Dolls in 2019, the latter through Frontiers Records.

The End Machine is an American supergroup consisting of guitar player George Lynch, bass player Jeff Pilson, drummer Mick Brown and singer Robert Mason. According to a 2021 interview with guitarist George Lynch, the band is an intentional return to the classic Dokken sound.
