Byomkesh Pawrbo is a 2016 Indian Bengali language thriller film directed by Arindam Sil and the film is the sequel to 2015 film Har Har Byomkesh. Produced jointly under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films, the film reprises cinematography and music by Soumik Haldar and Bickram Ghosh respectively. Sayantika Banerjee as Gulab Bai (cameo) is doing a special dance number for a particular scene which is being choreographed by Saroj Khan. The film stars Abir Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty and Sohini Sarkar in lead roles. The movie is based on the story Amriter Mrityu by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay. The film was released on 16 December 2016 to positive critical reception.

Why Cheat India is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language crime drama film written and directed by Soumik Sen. It features Emraan Hashmi and Shreya Dhanwanthary in the lead roles. The film was theatrically released on 18 January 2019. It received mixed reviews and was a box office bomb grossing just 8.66 crore against its 20 crore budget.

Mahalaya (2019) is an Indian Bengali language drama film directed by Soumik Sen and produced by Nideas Creations and Productions Pvt Ltd. The film narrates an incident in Bengal in 1976, when the Birendra Krishna Bhadra narrated and Pankaj Mullick composed widely popular Mahisasuramardini program, which has been playing on All India Radio since 1931 on the eve of Mahalaya, was replaced by a new program Durga Durgatiharini, narrated by Bengali film actor Uttam Kumar and composed by Hemanta Mukherjee. Subhasish Mukhopadhyay played the role of Bhadra and Jisshu Sengupta played the role of Uttam Kumar.

Soumik Datta is a Bengali-born British Indian musician and composer, who specialises in the sarod. He was born in Mumbai but brought up in London. His brother is the photographer and filmmaker Souvid Datta.
