South Sequoia League

The South Sequoia League is a high school athletic league that is part of the CIF Central Section. [1] [2] It is the athletic conference for public high schools in west and north Kern County. For the 2023 football season, McFarland High School intends to leave the league and will play as an independent. [3] The 1987 McFarland Cross Country Team was the subject of the Disney film McFarland, USA. [4]

There is a seasonal selection of All League players in the scope of sports administered by the league. [5] [6] [7]

The California Interscholastic Federation—Central Section (CIF-CS) is the governing body of high school athletics in the central and southern portions of the San Joaquin Valley, the Eastern Sierra region, and as of the 2018/9 season, San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County on the Central Coast. It is one of ten sections that are comprised by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). As of the 2020–21 academic year, the Central Section consists of 18 athletic leagues.

The High Desert League is a high school athletic conference that is affiliated with the CIF Central Section (CIF-CS). Members are schools in the desert and mountain regions of east Kern County and eastern California. The league and its schools joined the CIF-CS in 2013; previously, they were part of the CIF Southern Section. All league performers are regularly announced.

The Southeast Yosemite League is a high school athletic league that is part of the CIF Central Section. The member schools are all public high schools in Bakersfield, California. With a long history, this has been called a power league in the Central Section.

The Southwest Yosemite League is a high school athletic league that is part of the CIF Central Section. All of the schools are in Bakersfield, California.

The West Sequoia League is a high school athletic league that is part of the CIF Central Section. There is a seasonal selection of All League players in the scope of sports administered by the league.
