Southasia Magazine is a Pakistani English-language political and news magazine published from Pakistan. The magazine publishes news and analysis about South Asia and international affairs. It is edited and published by Syed Jawaid Iqbal, [1] and is distributed in the United States by JAYEYE Associates.

Southasia Magazine was formerly called Thirdworld International which was established in 1977. [2] It changed its name in 1997. It is a certified member of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS). [3]

Josh Malihabadi Shayar-e-Inqalab

Josh Malihabadi popularly known as Shayar-e-Inqalab is regarded as one of the finest Urdu poets of the era of British India. Josh always challenged the established order and stood for liberal values. He was loud, brave who never compromised on principles. He wrote over 100,000 beautiful couplets and more than 1,000 rubaiyat in his lifetime. His autobiography “Yaadon ki Barat” is considered one of the best so far in Urdu as it is written in frank and candid manner. The first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru held him in high esteem and hardly missed a chance to attend the mushaira at Lala Kishan Lal Kalra’s United Coffee House where Josh used to be the star attraction. He was an Indian citizen until 1956, when he emigrated to Pakistan and became a Pakistani citizen. Some of his works were translated to English like The Unity of Mankind elegies by Josh Malihabadi by Syed Akbar Pasha Tirmizi who was a Pakistani citizen and a high court advocate.

<i>Nawaiwaqt</i> Pakistani newspaper

Nawaiwaqt is an Urdu daily newspaper in Pakistan which is currently owned by Majid Nizami Trust. It was launched on March 23, 1940, under the leadership of Hameed Nizami. Hameed Nizami was the founder of this newspaper. His younger brother Majid Nizami was the chief editor and publisher of Nawa-i-Waqt Group of Publications until he died in 2014 and then this group became the property of Majid Nizami Trust created by Majid Nizami himself in his lifetime. It is one of the most influential newspapers in the country. It has a special position in Pakistan's media, as the guardian of Pakistan's ideology, with well-established center-right and nationalist credentials. Currently, it is one of the four top influential Urdu newspapers in Pakistan. Tamgha-e-Imtiaz

Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, , is a state-organised honour of Pakistan. It is given to any civilian in Pakistan based on their achievements. Syed Ghulam Bhik Nairang, also known as Mir Nairang, was a distinguished lawyer, a poet and a prominent Pakistan Movement leader. He held the office of Deputy Leader, from 1938 to 1942, with the All-India Muslim League in the pre-partition India.

Muhammad Iqbal British Indian Urdu poet

Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal, known as Allama Iqbal, was a poet, philosopher, theorist, and barrister in British India. Sumbul Iqbal Pakistani actress

Sumbul Iqbal is a Pakistani television actress. She is best known for her leading roles in Meray Khwab Raiza Raiza (2011), Kis Din Mera Viyah Howay Ga 2 (2012), Raju Rocket (2012), Rukhsaar (2013), Aik Pal (2014), Tumsay Mil Kay (2015), Aik Thi Rania (2017). Iqbal was last seen in a role of Isha in Hum TV's Jaal (2019).
