Splash in the Boro is a water park and family aquatics center located in Statesboro, Georgia. The facility is situated within Mill Creek Regional Park and is operated by the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department. [1] [2]
The initial concepts for a family aquatics center in Statesboro, Georgia, were formulated by Mike Rollins, director of the Statesboro-Bulloch County Department of Parks and Recreation. [3] Concerned about the operating expenses of the then current aquatics facilities and pools, Rollins believed the county government could build a water park that would become a self-sustaining endeavor covering its operating expenses. The plan was included as part of a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum in 2002. The $4.5 million waterpark opened in 2004. In the first summer of operation, 90,000 people visited the park, exceeding initial estimates and expectations. [3] In 2009, Splash in the Boro added a $4 million expansion, including additional attractions and park amenities. [3]
The park has a number of water environments. Included within the park is an 800-foot (240 m) pool that simulates a river and encircles the play and leisure pools. The park also contains 25-meter lane pool and a 24,000-square-foot (2,200 m2) heated therapy pool. These pools are open throughout the year with the assistance of a portable dome structure that encloses the area immediately surrounding the pools. [2] The park also provides concessions with seating areas. Restrooms with family change areas and lockers are located within the facility. [2]

Six Flags White Water is a 69-acre (280,000 m2) water park located northwest of Atlanta, in East Cobb, Georgia. Originally opening in 1984 as White Water Atlanta, the park became part of the Six Flags family of parks in 1999. Today, it is marketed as a second gate to Six Flags Over Georgia, and the two parks often cross-promote each other. In 2012, the park hosted 505,000 visitors, ranking it #12 on the list of the top water parks in North America.
A splash pad or spray pool is a recreation area, often in a public park, for water play that has little or no standing water. This is said to eliminate the need for lifeguards or other supervision, as there is little risk of drowning.
Point Mallard Park is a park located in Decatur, Alabama, United States that sits on 500 acres (2.0 km2) of the Flint Creek shoreline. Flint Creek is a tributary of the nearby Tennessee River. The park, portions of which are open year-round, borders the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and is operated by the City of Decatur Parks and Recreation Board. It is positioned in the city's far southeasternmost section. The park was named after a frequent avian visitor to the Wildlife Refuge.
The Beach at Adventure Landing was a 35-acre (140,000 m2) water park located 24 miles (39 km) northeast of Cincinnati in Mason, Ohio. Previously known as The Beach Waterpark, it featured ten water attractions, several children's areas, sand volleyball and basketball courts, pool-side beverage service and other special events. The Beach was named the best privately owned water park by Aquatics International Magazine in 2010.
Mill Creek Recreational Park is a park facility located in Statesboro, Georgia. A joint project of the city of Statesboro and Bulloch County, the park was designed by the landscape architecture firm of Lose & Associates.
Dry Town Water Park is a waterpark located in Palmdale, California that opens each year from the Memorial Day weekend in May through Labor Day in September.

SplashDown Waterpark, a waterpark located within Ben Lomond Regional Park in Sudley, Virginia, is operated by the Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation. The park was built at the location of the Ben Lomond swimming pool, opening in May 1996. Among slides and wading pools, the facility also houses a 25-meter competition pool.
Willson's Woods Park is a park located in Mount Vernon, New York. The Park is owned by Westchester County and operated by its Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. Acquired in 1924, Willson's Woods is one of the oldest parks in the County's parks system. The Park was named for the former owner of the land, Charles Hill Willson of the Willson & Adams Lumber Company. The park is flanked to the east by the Hutchinson River Parkway and by Pelham Lake. It was built with the northern entrance passing under the now defunct New York, Westchester and Boston Railway line, and the southern under the still working New Haven Line.

Ray's Splash Planet is a Mecklenburg County, North Carolina funded water park located in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. The aquatic facility is operated by the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation department. Ray's Splash Planet is considered one of the largest indoor water parks in both of the Carolinas and is the largest water park in Charlotte, North Carolina, with over 29,000 square feet of space and using over 117,000 gallons of water at 87 degrees. The water is cleaned and sanitized through the use of chlorine, filtration and an ultraviolet germicidal irradiation system. There are multiple attractions including the Blue Comet, a three-story figure 8 slide, and other family friendly attractions like the Orbiter, Saturation Station, the Vortex, Meteor Showers, Moon Beach and the Sea of Tranquility. The water park also features a fitness center and gymnasium shared with the Irwin Academic Center, an educational center of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system. The first floor of the facility includes the pool area, locker rooms, birthday party classrooms and concessions stand. The second story includes the fitness center with an aerobics/dance studio. Access to the indoor gymnasium is also located on the second floor. Ray's Splash Planet is located on North Sycamore Street near Johnson & Wales University and is just off Interstate 77 in North Carolina in the Third Ward section of Uptown Charlotte. The water park opened on October 15, 2002 with help from Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation's partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Major competitors are Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina, Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, North Carolina and Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center (SHARC) is a multi-pool indoor and outdoor facility located in Hillsboro in the U.S. state of Oregon. Originally opened in 1954 as an outdoor at Shute Park, an indoor recreation center and pool opened in 1981. The indoor recreation center, which includes a weight room, spa, a wading pool, and classroom space, was expanded in 2006 at a cost of $9 million.
The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre is a sports complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Co-owned by the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto Scarborough, it is operated by TPASC Inc., with programming offered by both the university and Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation. It is located on the northern grounds of the university's campus near the intersection of Highway 401 and Morningside Avenue.
The Oakleigh Recreation Centre is an aquatic and leisure facility in Oakleigh, Victoria, Australia. The centre has a stadium with four multipurpose courts, a health club, a crossfit box, massage services, a cafe and a state-of-the-art outdoor pool. The pool area contains five pools, an outdoor 50m lap pool, a dive pool with seven diving boards, a multi-purpose pool and a toddler pool and splash pad, which is an aquatic playground.
Big Splash was a former waterpark located at East Coast Park in Singapore that operated between 1977 and 2006. It was later redeveloped into a dining and recreation area named Playground @ Big Splash, which opened in 2008. The site was demolished in 2017.
