Split Seconds is a five piece indie pop band from Perth, Australia.

The band formed was formed in 2010 by Sean Pollard, a Perth-based singer songwriter.

Split Seconds' first self-titled EP was released in 2011, [1] and earned the band win 4 WAMI awards in 2011 including Favourite Newcomer, Most Promising New Act, Best Indie Pop Band and Best Male Vocalist. [2] Many of the songs were written by Pollard. [3]

Their single "Bed Down" received high rotation on Triple J after they were unearthed by the station to play the Big Day Out.

In 2012 Split Seconds were nominated for 8 WAMI award, winning Best Male Vocalist for Sean Pollard. [4]

Their debut album You'll Turn Into Me was released on 10 August 2012 and features the singles "All You Gotta Do" and "Top Floor." [5] [6]

In 2013 the band relocated to Melbourne. [7]

In 2014 their EP Neil Young and Dumb was released. [8] [9]

West Australian Music Industry Awards

The West Australian Music Industry Awards (WAMIs) are annual awards presented to the local contemporary music industry, put on annually by the Western Australian Music Industry Association Inc (WAM). They won four awards at the 2011 ceremony and have won five overall.

Snowman was a band originally from Perth, Western Australia. They formed in 2002, relocated to London in 2008, and disbanded in 2011.

<i>Midnight Express</i> (EP) 2003 EP by Gyroscope

Midnight Express is the fifth release by Gyroscope and was released 2 May 2003. It is their first release on the Festival/Mushroom label. The EP was recorded at Perth, Western Australia's Studio Couch with producer Shaun O'Callaghan at the helm. Many fans of the older style sound that Gyroscope had back then refer to this EP and the following double a-side single "Driving for the Storm / Doctor Doctor" as being the pinnacle / high point of their career so far. In 2003 Bombshellzine.com’s readers voted Gyroscope as 'Best Australian Live Band', ‘Best Australian Breakthrough Act’ and Midnight Express as 'Most Popular EP'. Following the release of Midnight Express the band undertook a national tour in support of 28 Days.

Eleventh He Reaches London were an Australian five-piece post-hardcore band formed in December 1999 in Perth as Our Lasting Loss. They changed their name in late 2002 and released three studio albums, The Good Fight for Harmony, Hollow Be My Name and Bānhūs. They disbanded in 2016.

San Cisco is an Australian indie pop band that formed in 2009 under the original name of King George, in Fremantle, Western Australia. The band are a three-piece, and currently consists of Jordi Davieson, Josh Biondillo and Scarlett Stevens. Davieson and Biondillo share duties on keyboards. In November 2011, the band was signed by Albert Productions, but moved to Island Records for the release of its debut album. In October 2012, the band described its 'vibe' as "squelchy, crispy, streamlined, hairy, indie". At the ARIA Music Awards of 2013 the group were nominated for Best Independent Release and Best Dance Release for the album; and Best Video for "Fred Astaire", which was directed by Andrew Nowrojee.

<i>Goin Your Way</i> 2013 live album by Neil Finn and Paul Kelly

Goin' Your Way is a live album collaboration recorded by Neil Finn and Paul Kelly during a performance at the Sydney Opera House on 10 March 2013. It was released on 8 November as a stand-alone 2× CD, Blu-ray or DVD; or in a Limited Edition Deluxe version with all three formats. From 18 February to 18 March, Finn and Kelly undertook a joint tour of Australia, they performed tracks from their respective careers, including re-interpreting each other's work. The CD album peaked at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart while the DVD reached No. 1 on the related Music DVD Chart.

Cub Sport are an Australian pop group formed in Brisbane in early 2010. Founding mainstays are Zoe Davis on keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar and vocals, Tim Nelson on lead vocals and keyboards, Sam "Bolan" Netterfield on keyboards and vocals, and Dan Puusaari on drums. They have released five studio albums, This Is Our Vice (2016), Bats (2017), Cub Sport (2019), Like Nirvana (2020) and Jesus at the Gay Bar (2023). Jesus at the Gay Bar peaked at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, Like Nirvana reached number two and Cub Sport appeared at number twelve. Nelson and Netterfield married in August 2018.
