Elridge Wilburn Blake Sports and Fitness Center is an indoor sporting arena located in Charlotte Amalie West, Saint Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. [1] The capacity of the arena is 3,000 people (the largest on the island) and is home to the University of the Virgin Islands Buccaneers. [2]

It hosts the United States Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, a pre-season college basketball tournament. [3]

The Robert Morris University Island Sports Center is a sports complex located in the Pittsburgh suburb of Neville Island in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The RMU Island Sports Center opened in 1998, and houses several ice and inline skating rinks, a golf range, a miniature golf course, athletic fields, a strength and fitness center, a bistro and a pro shop. In 2003, Robert Morris University bought a Superfund Site's land from Neville Land Company for 2.7 million. Ohio River Park is still being monitored by the EPA. A boathouse was added in October 2016. The complex is accessible via exit 65 of Interstate 79.

David Hamilton Jackson was a labor rights advocate in the Danish West Indies, later the United States Virgin Islands. Jackson was an important figure in the struggle for increased civil rights and workers' rights on the islands. He petitioned for freedom of the press, and organized the islands' first trade union. Following the transfer of the territory to American control in 1917, he lobbied for US citizenship for the islanders.

The U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam is an NCAA college basketball tournament that takes place annually in late November. The men's tournament typically takes place the week before Thanksgiving, with the women's tournament occurring during Thanksgiving week. It is held in St. Thomas at the Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands. Missouri State is the defending men's champion. NC State and Texas are the defending women's champions in the Island and Reef divisions, respectively.

The tenth annual 2009 US Virgin Islands Paradise Jam was a women's basketball tournament that took place November 26–28, 2009. Eight teams from the NCAA were invited to participate in the tournament. The teams were separated into two brackets, the Reef Division and the Island Division. The Reef Division consisted of Mississippi State, Rutgers, Southern California and Texas. The Island Division consisted of Notre Dame, Oklahoma, San Diego State and South Carolina

Fraser Hart Kershaw Jr. is an actor, humanitarian and filmmaker, known primarily for his work raising awareness about global water issues. He has been involved in producing and staring in documentaries that focus on water access and sanitation, advocating for clean water projects that blend social causes with his creative pursuits. He is also recognized for his charitable efforts, working with organizations to promote sustainable water solutions in developing countries. He made his television debut acting in the 2016 televised international feature film Behind the Water. He was a figure in the new industry of filmmaking for the U.S. Virgin Islands. On 26 January 2021, Kershaw was announced as the head coach of the men's soccer program at Penn State University in the United States. Kershaw continued a century-long legacy of soccer coaching starting in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

The tournament, which began in 2000, was part of the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season and 2014–15 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The tournament was played at the Sports and Fitness Center in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Seton Hall won the men's tournament, in the women's tournament Florida Gulf Coast won the Island Division and Kentucky won the women's Reef Division.

The 2018 U.S. Virgin Islands gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, to select the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands. The election was held concurrently with the 2018 United States midterm elections. On Election Day, November 6, Bryan earned 38.08% of the vote, with Mapp coming in second with 33.45%. Since no candidate received a majority of the general election vote, as required by the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands, a runoff was held 14 days later between Albert Bryan Jr. and Incumbent Governor Kenneth Mapp, the top two vote-getters. On November 20, 2018, Democrat Albert Bryan Jr. won the runoff with 54.5% of the vote.

The tournament, which began in 2000, was part of the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season was held November 26–28. The tournaments are normally held at Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands at the Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the men's tournament was played at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The 2020 women's edition of the women's tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2024 Paradise Jam is an early-season men's and women's college basketball tournament. The tournament, which began in 2000, is part of the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season and 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The tournament is played at the Sports and Fitness Center in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
