Squarehead are an Irish garage pop band from Dublin composed of lead singer / guitarist Roy Duffy, bassist Ian McFarlane and Ruan van Vliet on drums.
Squarehead were formed in January 2010 when Roy Duffy began recording solo acoustic songs. Roy and Ian had previously been in a band (called Vimanas) with Lar Kaye of Adebisi Shank. [1]
The band released their first single "Fake Blood" on 7" Vinyl through Any Other City Records, a label run by Villagers drummer, James Byrne. [2] [3] In a public vote on Nialler9 Music Blog, "Fake Blood" was voted Number One in "Irish Songs of 2010" [4]
The band's second single, "Midnight Enchilada" was released by the Richter Collective Label (Adebisi Shank, The Redneck Manifesto, ASIWYFA) on 21 March 2011. The single has received plays on Don Letts & Lauren Laverne show on 6Music, [5] [6] the Dermot O'Leary show on BBC Radio 2 [7] and the X-Posure show on XFM [8]
On 25 February 2011, Morrissey attended a Squarehead show at the Workmans Club, Dublin [9] [10]

Kenickie were an English four-piece pop punk band from Sunderland. Adebisi Shank were a three-piece instrumental rock trio from Wexford, Ireland consisting of guitarist Lar Kaye, bass guitarist Vincent McCreith and drummer Michael Roe. The band was signed to Richter Collective in Ireland, before the record label closed in December 2012, Big Scary Monsters in the United Kingdom, Sargent House in the United States and Parabolica in Japan. Their name is a reference to the Oz character Simon Adebisi. Their style of music was described as "seriously upbeat math-rocky craziness". In September 2014, the band announced their breakup, with each member pursuing different paths. They released three studio albums and one extended play in their career.

The X Factor: The Band is a special edition of British reality talent competition The X Factor, which premiered on 9 December 2019 on ITV. The format for the series was announced on 4 November 2019 as a last-minute replacement for a planned All Stars spin-off series, which was originally supposed to air following The X Factor: Celebrity in late 2019. The format is an accelerated version of The X Factor whereby solo artists auditioned in front of Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger to try to win a place in a boyband or girlband. The new bands would then compete for a chance to join Cowell's record label and launch their careers.
