Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam is a Tamil language spiritual magazine published by Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai. The magazine has been published monthly since 1921. [1]
This magazine is considered to be an ancient leading spiritual and cultural magazine in Tamil Nadu.
As part of Swami Vivekananda birthday celebrations, Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam magazine organizes National Youth Day competition for the past 11 years for the students. In this competitions more than 10 lakh Students participated from nearly 3000 institutions last year and more than 12 lakh Students participated in the year 2014. [2] [3] [4]
Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam conducts short story competition from the year 2014 onwards to encourage the writers. [5]
For the year 2015, the short story competition has been announced and the last date to submit the Tamil short stories was declared to be 25 July 2015. [6]
In a short story competition conducted by this magazine nearly 1000 stories were submitted. The prizes were distributed on 29 August 2014. [7]
Ramakrishna Mission (RKM) is a Hindu religious and spiritual organisation which forms the core of a worldwide spiritual movement known as the Ramakrishna Movement or the Vedanta Movement. The mission is named after and inspired by the Indian saint Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and founded by Ramakrishna's chief disciple Swami Vivekananda on 1 May 1896. The organisation mainly propagates the Hindu philosophy of Vedanta–Advaita Vedanta and four yogic ideals– Jnana, Bhakti, Karma, and Raja yoga.

Swami Yatiswarananda (1889–1966) was a vice-president of Ramakrishna Order, whose headquarter is in Belur Math. He was a disciple of Swami Brahmananda, a brother disciple of Swami Vivekananda and a direct disciple and spiritual son of Ramakrishna. He served in Philadelphia propagating the message of Vedanta. He was the president of Bangalore centre of Ramakrishna Math. He founded an ashrama in Switzerland.
Shuddhananda who was the fifth president of the Ramakrishna Order, was a direct monastic disciple of Vivekananda. He joined the Ramakrishna Math in 1897. He became a trustee of Ramakrishna Math and a member of the governing body of Ramakrishna Mission in May 1903. He also took up the editorship of the Bengali magazine called Udbodhan for sometime. He was appointed as the secretary of the math and the mission in 1927 and as the vice president in 1937. In 1938, he became the president of the order. His tenure was short, as he died in 1938. He is renowned in the literary circles to have translated most of Vivekananda's original works from English to Bengali.

Vivekanandar Illam, earlier known as Ice House or Castle Kernan, is a historical building in Chennai, India. It was constructed in 1842 by Frederic Tudor. Vivekananda Educational Society (VES) is a registered non profit, service organization which owns and operates several schools located in the vicinity of Chennai. It has 20 schools in and around Chennai and one residential school, which are affiliated to Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan. It was registered as a society in 1972 by a group of persons associated with the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. The society has 20,000 students attending its schools everyday across the city. Headquartered at Dakshineshwar, Kolkata, the organisation has branch centres all over India, in Sri Lanka and Australia. The nuns of this order use the title "Pravrajika" before their ordained name, and are usually addressed as "Mataji" meaning 'revered mother'.
