St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Bermuda, located in Hamilton, is a congregation affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in Canada, in the Presbytery of West Toronto. [1]

It was formed in 1843 with the help of Christ Church in Warwick. The first preacher was Rev. James Morrison. The sanctuary was built in 1846. In 1873 the church petitioned the Presbytery of Halifax to send pastors. In 1875 the Presbyterian Church in Canada was formed and it became a part of that denomination. The Westminster Confession is the official confession of Faith. [2] [3]

It was established in 2012 by former congregations and members of the Presbyterian Church (USA), abbreviated PC(USA). Dissatisfaction with the declining membership of the PC(USA) along with growing denominational disputes over theology—particularly ordination of practicing homosexuals as pastors and gay marriage—and bureaucracy led to the founding of ECO. In 2018, ECO has over 383 congregations, 103,425 covenant partners and over 500 pastors. ECO churches are egalitarian in beliefs and ordain women as pastors and elders.

St. Andrews Presbyterian Kirk

St. Andrews Presbyterian Kirk is a church in downtown Nassau, Bahamas. The church was founded by fifty-five Scottish Presbyterian settlers in 1798, as the St. Andrews Society. On August 7, 1810 the foundation stone of the Kirk was laid, while in 1842 a Session room was added to the Kirk. In 1872 it started a mission School in Bin Town. In 1890s the manse was started.

The Christ Church in Warwick is a member of the Church of Scotland, established in 1719 as the first Presbyterian congregation in Bermuda. It was served by Presbyterian ministers from the United States and Canada, until 1845, when it was affiliated with the Free Church of Scotland. In 1844 the congregation adopted the Christ's Church name, later shortened to Christ Church. A new church building was opened in 1845. Later the congregation become part of the United Free Church of Scotland and in 1929 the Church of Scotland, in 2001 it became a full member of the Scottish denomination, and in 2008 was a member of the Presbytery of Europe. It has about 600 members, and affirms the Apostles Creed and the Westminster Confession.
