St Asaph Cricket Club is a Welsh cricket club based in St Asaph, Denbighshire. The club plays at Elwy Grove Park. [1] The club has played in the North Wales Premier Cricket League Premier Division since 2002, with the exception of the 2009 season, when they played in Division One; they won the league title in 2021 for the first time since 1975 and then again in 2023. [2] The club operates three senior mens teams and two ladies senior teams, all of which play in the North Wales league system, as well as four age-group sides.

Jack Newnes was a Welsh professional footballer who played as a half-back. He played amateur football while working as a collier and a steel worker prior to entering professional football with Bolton Wanderers in 1922. He went on to play almost 150 matches in the Football League for Bolton, Nelson and Southport, before moving into non-league football in 1928. Newnes spent several years in the non-league game and represented a number of clubs around Manchester. He won one cap for the Wales national football team in 1926.
