Stadt und Land Wohnbauten GmbH is a German state-owned public housing company which manages properties in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Operations

The company, which was founded in 1924, manages more than 42,000 residential apartments and 700 commercial properties. It also owns a further 9,000 residential apartments which are managed by third parties. [1]

The company aims to ensure Berliners of all income levels are able to afford to live in the city.

Treuhandanstalt

The Treuhandanstalt, colloquially referred to as Treuhand, was an agency established by the government of the German Democratic Republic to reprivatise/privatise East German enterprises, Volkseigene Betriebe (VEBs), prior to German reunification. Created by the Volkskammer on 17 June 1990, it oversaw the restructure and sale of about 8,500 state-owned companies with over four million employees. At that time, it was the world's largest industrial enterprise, controlling everything from steel works to the Babelsberg Studios.

Belgrade Waterfront, known in Serbian as Belgrade on Water, is an urban renewal development project headed by the Government of Serbia aimed at improving Belgrade's cityscape and economy by revitalizing the Sava amphitheater, a neglected stretch of land on the right bank of the Sava river, between the Belgrade Fair and Branko's bridge. It was started in 2014 with the reconstruction of the Belgrade Cooperative building, which was finished in June of the same year. It is the second largest mixed use complex under construction in Europe, just after Minsk Mir, worth 3.5 billion dollars. Belgrade Waterfront complex will include 7,000 residential units for 14,000 residents, luxury hotels including W Hotel and St. Regis, 2000 offices, the largest shopping mall in southeast Europe, and public buildings within a total construction area of 1.8 million sq.

IBZ Berlin Scientists center

The Internationale Begegnungszentrum der Wissenschaft is a residential building for both international scientists at the Free University of Berlin and the Max Planck Society and fellows of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. It is located at the Wiesbadener Straße in Berlin Wilmersdorf. The IBZ Berlin is a founding member of the Network of the Internationale Begegnungszentren der Wissenschaft, an association of international guesthouses (IBZs) and university-related guesthouses in Germany. The 25 million Marks used to fund the IBZ, have been generously provided by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Volkswagen Foundation and the Land Berlin. Between 2010 and 2011 the building was renovated with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
