Stan Barnes (born August 18,1961) is an American politician who served in the Arizona House of Representatives from the 21st district from 1989 to 1993 and in the Arizona Senate from the 21st district from 1995 to 1997. [1] [2]

The Buffalo Bandits are a professional box lacrosse team based in Buffalo,New York,that competes in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The team plays its home games at KeyBank Center. The 2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Arizona were held on November 6,2018,to elect the nine U.S. representatives from the State of Arizona,one from each of the state's nine congressional districts. The elections coincided with the 2018 Arizona gubernatorial election,as well as other elections to the U.S. House of Representatives,elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections. The 2018 general elections saw the Democratic party gain the 2nd congressional district,thus flipping the state from a 5–4 Republican advantage to a 5–4 Democratic advantage,the first time since the 2012 election in which Democrats held more House seats in Arizona than the Republicans.
The 2017–18 Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by ninth-year head coach Sean Miller,and played their home games at McKale Center in Tucson,Arizona as members in the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 27–8,14–4 in Pac-12 play to win the regular season championship. They defeated Colorado,UCLA,and USC to win the Pac-12 tournament. As a result,they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where,as a No. 4 seed,they were upset in the first round by No. 13 seed Buffalo.
The 2018–19 Phoenix mayoral special election was held on November 6,2018,to elect the new Mayor of Phoenix,Arizona. The election was officially nonpartisan;candidates ran on the same ballot. In the initial round of the election,since no candidate reached 50 percent plus one vote,a runoff election was held on March 12,2019,between the top two finishers.

The 2017–18 Arizona State Sun Devils women's basketball team represented Arizona State University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Sun Devils,led by 21st year head coach Charli Turner Thorne,played their games at the Wells Fargo Arena and are members of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 22–13,10–8 in Pac-12 play to finish in sixth place. They advanced to the semifinals of the Pac-12 women's tournament where they lost to Stanford. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA women's tournament where they defeated Nebraska in the first round before losing to Texas in the second round.
The 36th Arizona State Legislature,consisting of the Arizona State Senate and the Arizona House of Representatives,was constituted in Phoenix from January 1,1983,to December 31,1984,during the first two years of Bruce Babbitt's second full term as Governor of Arizona. Both the Senate and the House membership remained constant at 30 and 60,respectively. The Republicans increased their lead in the Senate by two seats,giving them an 18–12 edge in the upper house,while the Democrats gained four seats in the lower house,although the Republicans still held a 39–21 majority.
