Stan Blake (born November 8,1954) is an American railroad conductor and politician,and a former Wyoming state legislator. A member of the Democratic Party,Blake represented the 39th district in the Wyoming House of Representatives from 2007 to 2021. In 2020,he was defeated by fellow Union Pacific employee and Green River resident Marshall Burt,a Libertarian.
Blake is employed by the Union Pacific Railroad and lives in Green River,Wyoming,with his wife,Terri June Blake. [1]
America's first transcontinental railroad was a 1,911-mile (3,075 km) continuous railroad line built between 1863 and 1869 that connected the existing eastern U.S. rail network at Council Bluffs,Iowa,with the Pacific coast at the Oakland Long Wharf on San Francisco Bay. The rail line was built by three private companies over public lands provided by extensive U.S. land grants. Building was financed by both state and U.S. government subsidy bonds as well as by company-issued mortgage bonds. The Western Pacific Railroad Company built 132 miles (212 km) of track from the road's western terminus at Alameda/Oakland to Sacramento,California. The Central Pacific Railroad Company of California (CPRR) constructed 690 miles (1,110 km) east from Sacramento to Promontory Summit,Utah Territory. The Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) built 1,085 miles (1,746 km) from the road's eastern terminus at the Missouri River settlements of Council Bluffs and Omaha,Nebraska,westward to Promontory Summit.

The Great Divide Basin or Great Divide Closed Basin is an area of land in the Red Desert of Wyoming where none of the water falling as rain to the ground drains into any ocean,directly or indirectly. It is thus an endorheic basin,one of several in North America that adjoin the Continental Divide. To the south and west of the basin is the Green River watershed,draining to the Gulf of California/Pacific Ocean;to the north and east is the North Platte watershed,draining to the Gulf of Mexico. The basin is very roughly rectangular in shape;the northwest corner is at Oregon Buttes near South Pass,about 40 miles (64 km) southwest of Lander,and the southeast corner is in the Sierra Madre Range near Bridger Pass,about 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Rawlins.
The Cheyenne Depot Museum is a railroad museum in Cheyenne,Wyoming,United States. It is located inside the 1880s Union Pacific Railroad depot. A National Historic Landmark,the station was the railroad's largest west of Council Bluffs,Iowa,and a major western example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture.
Interstate 80 (I-80) is a part of the Interstate Highway System that runs from San Francisco,California,to Teaneck,New Jersey. In Wyoming,the Interstate Highway runs 402.76 miles (648.18 km) from the Utah state line near Evanston east to the Nebraska state line in Pine Bluffs. I-80 connects Cheyenne,Wyoming's capital and largest city,with several smaller cities along the southern tier of Wyoming,including Evanston,Green River,Rock Springs,Rawlins,and Laramie. The highway also connects those cities with Salt Lake City to the west and Omaha to the east. In Cheyenne,I-80 intersects I-25 and has Wyoming's only auxiliary Interstate,I-180. The Interstate runs concurrently with US Highway 30 (US 30) for most of their courses in Wyoming. I-80 also has shorter concurrencies with US 189 near Evanston,US 191 near Rock Springs,and US 287 and Wyoming Highway 789 (WYO 789) near Rawlins. The Interstate has business loops through all six cities along its course as well as a loop serving Fort Bridger and Lyman east of Evanston.
The Ames Monument is a large pyramid in Albany County,Wyoming,designed by Henry Hobson Richardson and dedicated to brothers Oakes Ames and Oliver Ames Jr.,Union Pacific Railroad financiers. It marked the highest point on the first transcontinental railroad,at 8,247 feet (2,514 m).

The Union Pacific Railroad Complex in Evanston,Wyoming,was built to serve the Union Pacific Railroad main line running through Evanston. The complex's brick buildings were built in 1912–13,with frame buildings spanning the period from 1871 to the 1920s. The complex features a roundhouse with 27 stalls built during the 1912 improvement phase,replacing an earlier roundhouse built in 1871. The complex was the chief service point on the UP main line between Ogden,Utah,and Green River,Wyoming.
Wyoming Highway 375 (WYO 375),also known as Granger Road,is a short 0.99-mile (1.59 km) state highway in Granger,Wyoming,United States,that connects the main part of town with U.S. Route 30 (US 30).
Fort Steele,also known as Fort Fred Steele,was established to protect the newly built Union Pacific Railroad from attacks by Native Americans during construction of the transcontinental railroad in the United States. The fort was built in 1868 where the railroad crossed the North Platte River in Carbon County,Wyoming. Work on the fort was carried out by military and civilian labor. Fort Steele was one of three forts built on the line. Fort Sanders near Laramie and Fort D.A. Russell at Cheyenne were the other railroad forts. Fort Steele was named for the recently deceased General Frederick Steele.
The Point of Rocks Stage Station is a former resting place at the meeting point of the Overland Trail and the Union Pacific Railroad in Sweetwater County,Wyoming,USA. It was built as a stop for the Overland Stage Line in the 1861 or 1862,equidistant between the earlier Black Buttes and Salt Wells stations,which were 28 miles (45 km) apart. The station served the stage line from 1862 to 1868. In 1868,the Union Pacific line reached Point of Rocks,putting the stage line out of business. The station then became a freight depot for nearby mines,with a road leading to Atlantic City and South Pass. The freight activity declined,and in 1877,the station became a residence. At one point it was allegedly inhabited by Jim McKee,a former member of the Hole in the Wall Gang. It became the property of the state of Wyoming in 1947 and is administered as Point of Rocks Stage Station State Historic Site.

Marshall A. Burt is an American politician who served in the Wyoming House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party,Burt previously was a Libertarian while he represented the 39th district from 2021 to 2023. Burt was the first third-party candidate elected to the Wyoming Legislature in over 100 years.
Green River station is a former train station in Green River,Wyoming. It was served by the Union Pacific Railroad from its construction to 1971,and by Amtrak from 1971 to 1983 and 1991–1997. The Pioneer was the last train to serve Green River.
