The Northern League was an independent minor professional baseball league. It was not affiliated with Major League Baseball or the organized minor leagues. The league was founded in 1993 and folded after its 2010 season when financial stability became a problem. The three teams remaining in the league when it folded joined with the remaining teams in United League Baseball and the Golden Baseball League to form a new independent organization called the North American League.
The Rochester Red Wings are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. They are located in Rochester,New York,and play their home games at Innovative Field,located in downtown Rochester. Founded in 1899,they are the oldest continuously operating sports franchise in North America below the major league level.
Walter Wayne Backman is an American former Major League Baseball second baseman. He is best known for his time with the New York Mets from 1980–1988 and was a member of their 1986 World Series-winning team. He was also the former manager for the Las Vegas 51s,the Mets' Triple-A team,from 2013 to 2016. He served as the bench coach for the Pericos de Puebla of the Mexican Baseball League in 2017. As of June 2023,Backman is the manager of the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. On October 2,2023,it was announced that the Ducks and Backman have parted ways.
Matthew Hanks LeCroy is an American former professional baseball catcher,first baseman,and designated hitter and current manager for the Rochester Red Wings. During his time in Major League Baseball (MLB),LeCroy had the distinction of being the active player with the most plate appearances without a stolen base in his career.

Nieto is formerly the manager of the Minor League Baseball (MiLB) Rochester Red Wings,the Twins’Triple-A affiliate. He previously served in various coaching capacities for the New York Yankees and New York Mets. A native of Artesia,California,Nieto attended Gahr High School then went on to Oral Roberts University.
Frank Michael Verdi was an American professional baseball infielder and longtime manager. He spent his career in minor league baseball,except for a single playing appearance in the Major Leagues for the 1953 New York Yankees. As a player,he was listed at 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m) and 170 pounds (77 kg);he both batted and threw right-handed. He was selected to the Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame in 1999 and the International League Hall of Fame in 2008.
Gregory Michael Quade is an American professional baseball coach and manager. The manager of the Rochester Red Wings,Triple-A farm system affiliate of the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball from 2015–17,Quade is currently the roving outfield coordinator in the Minnesota farm system. He had spent 2014 as a roving outfield and baserunning instructor for the New York Yankees' organization.

He played in MLB for the Twins. In 2018 he served as manager of the Twins' Double-A affiliate,the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League,after almost a decade as a coach in the Twins' farm system.

Brian Adam Dinkelman is an American retired professional baseball second baseman who is the manager of the Cedar Rapids Kernels,the Class-A minor-league affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Dinkelman was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the eighth round of the 2006 MLB draft,and made his MLB debut on June 4,2011. He last played professional baseball in 2013,transitioning into coaching in the Twins organization. He served as the Kernels' hitting coach prior to his promotion to manager for the 2019 season.

The New Britain Bees are an American collegiate summer baseball team based in New Britain,Connecticut. They are a member of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL),a wood-bat league with teams in New Hampshire,Massachusetts,Connecticut,and Vermont. Founded in October 2015,the Bees played the 2016 to 2019 seasons as an independent professional baseball team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. The Bees have played all their home games at New Britain Stadium,where they succeeded the New Britain Rock Cats,who played in the Eastern League before moving to Hartford,becoming the Hartford Yard Goats.
