George Stanley Seymour Jr was a former chairman of Newcastle United and the son of Stan Seymour Sr.
Born the son of Stan Seymour Sr in Scotland, [1] he managed a sports shop in Newcastle upon Tyne. [2]
Seymour inherited his fathers' shareholding in Newcastle United, was appointed to the board of the company in April 1976, and went on to be chairman in March 1981. [3] He stopped manager Arthur Cox from spending large amounts on acquiring players, worked hard to improve the financial position of the club and halted a takeover by businessman, Ernie Clay. However, he also brought Kevin Keegan to Newcastle in 1982. He resigned as chairman as in 1988 and died at Birmingham in November 1992. [3]

Having begun his career at Scunthorpe United, he moved to Liverpool in 1971 and then to Hamburger SV in 1977, enjoying great success at both clubs. During this period, he was a regular member of the England national team. After leaving Hamburg, where he was affectionately known as 'Mighty Mouse', Keegan played for Southampton and Newcastle United before retiring. Keegan returned to football in 1992 as manager at Newcastle. He later managed Fulham and Manchester City. All three clubs he managed won promotion as champions in his first full season there. He managed the England national team from 1999 to 2000.
Andrew Alexander Cole is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. His professional career lasted from 1988 to 2008, and is mostly remembered for his time with Manchester United, who paid a British record transfer fee to sign him from Newcastle United.
