The Star of Stars is a flat horse race in Indonesia for aged three and above run over a distance of 2,200 meters (approximately 1+3⁄8 miles). This horse race is held as part of the Kejurnas Series II, usually held in October. [1] It is known as the "highest stage" for horse racing in Indonesia, besides the Derby. [2]
As with most horse racing in Indonesia, Thoroughbred horses are not allowed to compete. Only horses crossed with Thoroughbred horses (called G/KP) and Kuda Pacu Indonesia with height class A (≥ 161,1 cm) are allowed to race.
According to official records, this horse race was first held in 1996 at a distance of 2000 m, with Robin Hood as the winner. In 1999, the distance was extended to 2200 m, where it remains today. [3]
Saud is the horse with the most wins in this race, with five consecutive victories from 2010 to 2014, followed by Djohar Manik, [4] who won it three times (2015, 2017, and 2018). [2]
