Stefan Nilsson (born December 1952) [1] is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder or defender. He spent all of his professional career with Landskrona BoIS. At international level, he made 11 appearances for the Sweden U-21 national team. [2]

Career

Nilsson played for Landskrona BoIS. He represented the club from 1971 until 1984 (1971–1980 in the Allsvenskan) and played 436 games for the club. [3] He mostly played defence, but on occasion in the midfield. He became a hero at 15 in May 1974 scoring the winning goal against local rivals Malmö FF in the 85th minute, the first time the team had ever beaten them. [4] [5]

After Landskrona BoIS' relegation to the second tier in 1980, Nilsson continued for another four seasons. After the 1984 relegation to the third tier, he ended his football career.

In 1985 Nilsson became Chairman of Landskrona BoIS. He let manager Claes Cronqvist finish his contract, despite the relegation. In 1986 he brought Danish manager Kurt Stendahl to the club. He left the club after the 1986 season, declaring "I have had lots of joy as active for the club, and during the two latest years I've learned much as well". [6]

A Scanian derby is the name given to any fixture between football clubs in Scania, the southernmost county and traditional province of Sweden. The most high-profile fixture in the region is the rivalry between Helsingborgs IF and Malmö FF. Historically, the rivalry between the two clubs and Landskrona BoIS is also well known. Additional Scanian football clubs that are playing in the upper three tiers of Swedish football are BK Olympic, IFK Malmö, Trelleborgs FF, Lunds BK, Torns IF and Ängelholms FF. Two cities have more than one club in the top three tiers: Malmö with MFF, BK Olympic and IFK Malmö, and Lund with Lunds BK and Torns IF.

The 2013 season was Landskrona BoIS's 98th in existence, their 51st season in the second highest division, their 10th season in Superettan and their 8th consecutive season in the league. They competed in Superettan and Svenska Cupen. The season began with the group stage of Svenska Cupen in March, and league play started in April and lasted until November. Jörgen Pettersson replaced Henrik Larsson as manager in December 2012, and Georg "Rossi" Eterovic replaced Hans Eklund as assistant manager. The captain this season was Linus Malmqvist, with Fredrik Svanbäck as vice captain.

The 2014 Superettan, part of the 2014 Swedish football season, was the 15th season of Superettan, Sweden's second-tier football league in its current format. The 2014 fixtures were released on 20 December 2013. The season started on 5 April 2014 and concluded on 2 November 2014.

Sonny Johansson is a former Swedish football player, who between 1968 and 1984 represented Landskrona BoIS. He played in Allsvenskan during ten seasons, 1971 until 1980. Even though he never won the top scorer competition in any single year during the 1970s, he scored more goals than any other Allsvenskan player during the entire decade. Other achievements for his club included the promotion to Allsvenskan in 1970, winning the Swedish Cup final 1972 and two Allsvenskan bronze medals for the 1975 and 1976 seasons. He also played 3 caps for the Sweden national team, and scored one goal. There were voices that suggested that he would have represented Sweden at many more occasions if it was not for the Sweden national manager of the time, Georg "Åby" Ericson. The supporters of Landskrona BoIS gave him the nickname "Kung Sune, vår vän". In English "King Sune, our friend". Sonny Johansson played 638 games for the club and scored 310 goals.
