Stefanie Kubissa (born 6 January 1985) is a German sabre fencer, team bronze medallist at the 2001 World Championships and team gold medallist at the 2001 European Championships.
Kubissa first competed in nine-pin bowling, in which she was Middle Rhein champion and German national champion for her age group, category B. [1] When she was 13 years old she switched to sabre at TSV Kanten under coach Emmo Kawald. Within her first year of training she became regional champion both in the cadet and junior categories. [1]
In the 2000–01 season she took a silver medal in the Göppingen Junior World Cup. At the age of sixteen, she joined the national sabre team, composed of Sandra Benad, Sabine Thieltges and Doreen Häntzsch. [1] At the 2001 European Championships at home in Koblenz Germany prevailed over Hungary and Poland, then defeated Italy in the final to earn the gold medal. After this achievement Kubissa transferred to TSV Dormagen, a bigger club which could shoulder the travel costs to international competitions. [2] She took part in the World Championships in Nîmes, where she reached the table of 16. In the team event Germany lost to Russia in the semifinals, but overcame Azerbaijan in the small final and came away with a bronze medal. [3]
She was German national champion in 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2013. [4]
Rebecca Ward is an American sabre fencer. She won the gold medal at the sabre 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Mariel Zagunis 15–11 in the final, and took bronze in both individual and team sabre events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She also won the women's NCAA national individual sabre championship three times, the first in history to do so in sabre. In 2015, she was inducted into the USA Fencing Hall of Fame.
Oleh Shturbabin is a Ukrainian sabre fencer, bronze medallist in the 2005 World Fencing Championships and silver team medallist in the 2006 World Fencing Championships.
Sergey Aleksandrovich Sharikov, also known as Serguei/Sergei Charikov, was a left-handed Russian Olympic champion sabre fencer. In the Olympics he won two gold medals, a silver medal, and a bronze medal.

Stéphanie Mary Groß is a retired amateur German freestyle wrestler, who competed in the women's middleweight category. Gross has claimed four medals at the World Championships, and seized an opportunity to compete for Germany at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Before her sporting career ended in 2008, Gross trained full-time as a member of the wrestling squad for AC Ückerath in Dormagen, North Rhine-Westphalia, under her father and personal coach Walter Groß.

She is also a junior world champion and two-time Youth Olympics gold medalist, having won the girls' sabre event and the mixed team event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.
Renáta Katona is a Hungarian sabre fencer. She is a world champion and won the gold medal in the women's team sabre event at the 2022 World Championships. Katona is also a European Championships silver and bronze medallist, and a Universiade silver medallist in the women's team sabre. She competed in the women's sabre and team sabre event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
