Apostolos Nikolaidis was a Greek singer whose career spanned four decades. He was born in Drama, Greece and grew up in Thessaloniki. He is best known for being the first Greek artist to record or re-record the authentic, "prohibited" rebetika songs in the early 1970s with their original lyrics at a time when this type of music was censored in Greece due to the military junta of 1967–1974 in power.

Giannis Tatasopoulos relocated to the United States in 1955 and decided to stay there in 1958. His son Nikos Tatasopoulos, who was born in the United States, is also a bouzouki master, and soloist. What did you do in the war, Thanasis? is a 1971 Greek satirical drama film. It starred Thanasis Veggos as Thanasis, a poor labourer trying to survive during the Axis occupation of Greece. With references to the Great Famine (Greece) and the Greek resistance, the film was also a political allegory for the Greek military junta of 1967–1974. It won the Best Film Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
The athletics department of Panathinaikos A.O. was founded in 1919 by the football players of the team. Amongst its first athletes were Giorgos Kalafatis, Apostolos Nikolaidis, Loukas Panourgias and Michalis Papazoglou. It is the second oldest department of the club operating continuously since its foundation, only behind the football department.
Social Decay is a 1932 Greek silent film directed by Stelios Tatasopoulos. The film features social realism in Athens during the 1930s featuring prisons, drugs, gangs, sex, strikes, and clashes with law enforcement. The director assisted in the conservation and editing of the film in 1989 in collaboration with the Greek Film Archive. The film was discovered in a storage room at the Rex theatre in Athens during the 1980s.
