Stenden University Qatar is a former campus of Stenden University of Applied Sciences, which is based in the Netherlands. The Qatar campus is presently located at Al-Jeleait Street, Bin Omran, Doha in the state of Qatar. Stenden University Qatar was a joint venture between Al Rayyan Education and Stenden University of Applied Sciences.

In 2021, the university changed its name to Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU), ended its association with Stenden, and entered into an academic partnership with the University of Derby, UK. [1]

History

The joint venture between Stenden University of Applied Sciences and Al Rayyan Education was established in 2000 and terminated in 2020.

It is currently used mostly for football matches and it is the home to Al-Rayyan Sports Club. The stadium is named after Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar from 1960 to 1972. The former stadium, built in 2003, had a seating capacity of 21,282 and was demolished in 2015. The new Al Rayyan Stadium has a seating capacity of 45,032.

Stenden South Africa is an Institution of Higher Education, located in Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is a branch campus of Stenden University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands. It was founded in 2002 and offers two specialised degree programmes: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Disaster Management and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Hospitality Management. Hospitality students may decide to add a year to their studies and obtain a double degree: The South African B.Com. and The Dutch Bachelor of Business Administration.
