Stereo 35/MM, later reissued under the title Enoch Light And His Orchestra At Carnegie Hall, is an album by Enoch Light and His Orchestra. It was released in 1961 on Command Records (catalog no. RS 826-S.D.). [1] The musicians performing solos included Doc Severinsen, Phil Bodner, and Bobby Byrne. [2]
The album was recorded at Carnegie Hall with the original master on 35mm magnetic film. The liner notes boasted: The first time you hear this record will be one of the most startling experiences of your entire life. For the very first time, you will hear sound that is completely liberated, sound that is totally free—pure, full, honest sound with no mechanical restrictions whatsoever." [3]
Stereo 35/MM debuted on the Billboard magazine pop album chart on October 9, 1961, held the No. 1 spot for seven weeks, and remained on the chart for 57 weeks. [4]
AllMusic gave the album a rating of two stars. Reviewer Ted Mills found the sound to be crisp and the stereo separation fine. [2]

Command Records was a record label founded by Enoch Light in 1959 and later associated with ABC-Paramount Records. Light produced a majority of the artists releases in the labels catalog.

The original 1964 album featured 12 songs, highlights of two concerts Fitzgerald performed on the 28 and 29 of July 1964 at the fifth annual Festival Mondial du Jazz Antibes in Juan-les-Pins, France. In 2002 Verve re-issued this album, including all the performances from both evenings. Ella is in fine voice, sounding very aggressive at times, as her voice leaps and growls. The listener also gets to hear Ella improvise a musical tribute to the crickets who are also in fine voice throughout the performance.
