Stephen John Schmoll (born February 4,1980) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He bats and throws right-handed.
Schmoll graduated from the University of Maryland,College Park. In 2000,he played for the Bethesda Big Train. [1] He pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2005. On January 4,2006,the Dodgers traded Schmoll and Duaner Sánchez to the New York Mets for Jae Seo and Tim Hamulack.
Schmoll signed with the Washington Nationals for the 2008 season after being released by the Mets in spring training. He spent the entire year with the Harrisburg Senators,and he has not pitched since.
Sanford Koufax,nicknamed "the Left Arm of God",is an American former baseball pitcher who played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers from 1955 to 1966. Widely regarded as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history,Koufax was the first three-time winner of the Cy Young Award,each time winning unanimously and the only pitcher to do so when a single award was given for both the leagues;he was also named the National League Most Valuable Player in 1963. Retiring at the age of 30 due to chronic pain in his pitching elbow,Koufax was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 1972 at the age of 36,the youngest player ever elected.
Walter Perry Johnson,nicknamed "Barney" and "the Big Train",was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played his entire 21-year baseball career in Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher for the Washington Senators from 1907 to 1927. He later served as manager of the Senators from 1929 through 1932 and of the Cleveland Indians from 1933 through 1935.

The Big Train plays its home games at Shirley Povich Field. As of August 2023,more than 210 Big Train alumni have played professional baseball,including 23 in the major leagues.
