The Michael Tuck Medal was awarded to the best-and-fairest player in the AFL Pre-season Cup Final. The award was presented annually between 1992 and 2013; since 2014, the award has not been presented due to the preseason being structured without a final. It is named after Michael Tuck, who played 426 senior matches for Hawthorn between 1972 and 1991 and was the VFL-AFL games record holder until being surpassed by Brent Harvey in round 19, 2016.

Adam Murray Selwood is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Originally from Bendigo, Victoria, Selwood played under-18 football for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup before being recruited by West Coast in the third round of the 2002 National Draft. He made his debut for the club in 2003, and received a nomination for the AFL Rising Star two seasons later, in 2005. Alternating between midfield and defensive roles, Selwood played in West Coast's 2006 premiership win over Sydney, and also represented Australia in the 2008 International Rules Series against Ireland. He retired at the end of the 2013 season, having played 187 games for the club.

Selwood captained Geelong between 2012 and 2022, is the club's games record holder, has won the Carji Greeves Medal three times as their best and fairest player and holds the record for longest serving captain in the AFL.
Scott Selwood is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles and Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). As an Eagle, Selwood won a John Worsfold Medal in 2012, and was one of five acting captains at the club in the second half of the 2014 season after then-captain Darren Glass retired midway through the season. He moved to Geelong via free agency at the end of the 2015 season, playing alongside his brother and current Geelong captain Joel Selwood for a further four seasons. He is now playing senior football with the Ivanhoe Amateur football Club while also serving as an assistant coach at Collingwood Football Club.
Timothy Selwood was an English cricketer who played for Middlesex as an opening batsman between 1966 and 1973. He struggled at first-class level, failing to make a half-century for Middlesex, though he did make a career-best 89 during a one-off season for Central Districts in 1972–73. Selwood spent the remainder of his career playing for Middlesex's 2nd XI, as well as league and club cricket, before going on to coach Finchley Cricket Club in the Middlesex Premier League. His son, Steven, also played first-class cricket.

Matthew Steven "Matt" Lineker is an English cricketer, a left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who played for Derbyshire; he is currently a free agent. He made his first-class debut for Derbyshire against Essex in August 2011. Lineker signed a summer contract with Derbyshire in 2010 for the 2011 season. Lineker had been a regular scorer in the Derbyshire Premier League before signing for Derbyshire.
The 2013 County Championship season, known as the LV= County Championship for sponsorship reasons, was the 114th cricket County Championship season. It was contested through two divisions: Division One and Division Two. Each team played all the others in their division both home and away. Durham were County Champions for the third time in six seasons. The top two teams from Division Two, Lancashire and Northamptonshire, gained promotion to the first division for the 2014 season, while the bottom two sides from Division One—Derbyshire and Surrey—were relegated to Division Two for 2014.
Harry William Podmore is an English professional cricketer who plays for Glamorgan County Cricket Club. A right-arm medium-fast bowler who bats right-handed, he played youth cricket for Middlesex and made his debut for the county in 2014 before spending time on loan with Glamorgan, Durham and Derbyshire over the next two seasons. He made his first-class cricket debut on 1 May 2016 in the 2016 County Championship and played for Kent between 2018 and 2022; he was awarded his county cap in 2019 and left the county at the end of the 2022 season, moving to Glamorgan.
The 2017 Royal London One-Day Cup tournament was a limited overs cricket competition that forms part of the 2017 domestic cricket season in England and Wales. Matches were contested over 50 overs per side and had List A cricket status. All eighteen First-class counties competed in the tournament which ran from the end of April with the final taking place at Lord's on 1 July. Nottinghamshire won the tournament, defeating Surrey in the final. The defending champions were Warwickshire.
The 2021 County Championship was the 121st cricket County Championship season in England and Wales. For the first phase of the tournament, the teams were split into three groups of six, with each side playing ten matches. The top two teams from each group progressed into Division One for the second phase of the competition, with the other teams progressing to Divisions Two and Three. The team that finished top of Division One became the county champions; and the top two teams from Division One contested a five-day match at Lord's for the Bob Willis Trophy. On 17 December 2020, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed all the fixtures for the tournament. After completion of the group stage on 14 July 2021, the ECB confirmed the fixtures for the division stage on 22 July 2021.
