Stian Thomassen (born 8 August 1977) is a retired Norwegian football defender.

He came through the youth ranks of Lillestrøm SK and was drafted into the first team in 1996. [1] He also represented Norway as a youth and under-21 international. Playing 27 Lillestrøm league games over three seasons, [2] he spent 1998 on loan to FK Haugesund. [3] He left the top tier to play three seasons for HamKam, four for Nybergsund and one for Ull/Kisa. He played a game on trial for Grimsby in 2001 during their preseason in Sweden. [2]

The 2013 season was Lillestrøm's 37th consecutive year in Tippeligaen and their second with Magnus Haglund as manager. They finished 10th in the league and were knocked out of the cup at the Semi-Final stage by Molde.

The 2012 season was Strømsgodset's 6th season in Tippeligaen following their promotion back to the top flight in 2006. It was Ronny Deila's fifth season in charge and they finished 2nd in the Tippeligaen and were knocked out of the 2012 Norwegian Football Cup at the Quarterfinal stage by Brann.

The 2011 season was Haugesund's 2nd season in the Tippeligaen following their promotion in 2009, their 3rd season with Jostein Grindhaug as manager and 9th season in existence. They finished the season in 6th position, whilst also reaching the Fourth round of the Norwegian Cup.

The 2023 season is Rosenborg's 44th consecutive year in the top flight now known as Eliteserien, their 55th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They will participate in Eliteserien, 2022–23 Cup, 2023 Cup and the Europa Conference League entering at the Second Qualifying round.This was Kjetil Rekdal's second season as Rosenborg manager, but on 16 June he was sacked. Svein Maalen took over as interim manager with Trond Henriksen as assistant.
