Stijn Van Opstal (born 1976) is a Flemish actor.

He graduated in 1998 from the Studio Herman Teirlinck, [1] the same year as Tom Dewispelaere, Ben Segers and Geert Van Rampelberg, with whom he founded the theatre company Olympique Dramatique. In the theatre, he acted in Kaspar, De gebroeders Leeuwenhart, De geruchten, Adams appels and Bij het kanaal naar links. [2]

He acted in the feature films S. and Dossier K. and played a role with his theatre companions in the television series De Parelvissers. His first television appearance was in the series Recht op Recht . He also had a recurring role as the criminal Dimitri Alva in the sixth season of the VTM television series Zone Stad . [3] In the spring of 2013, he acted in the VIER series Met man en macht. [1] He also played roles in several short films.

<i>Dossier K.</i> 2009 film by Jan Verheyen

Dossier K. is a Flemish thriller film directed by Jan Verheyen, based on a novel by Jef Geeraerts. Dossier K. is the second book by Jef Geeraerts for the series about detectives Vincke and Verstuyft that has been put to screen after De zaak Alzheimer. Several actors from the first film reprise their roles, including Koen De Bouw, Werner De Smedt, Hilde De Baerdemaeker, Filip Peters and Jappe Claes. It is a film about crimes in the Albanian mafia scene in Antwerp.

Recht op Recht is a Belgian television series produced by the Flemish channel Eén. 45 episodes were areid between 1998 and 2002.

Stijn Van Opstal is in a relationship with Sarah Vangeel; they have two children together. Van Opstal grew up in Beerse. [4]

Beerse is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Beerse proper and Vlimmeren. On 1 January 2006 Beerse had a total population of 16,482. By the end of 2007, this number had risen to 16,757. The total area is 37.48 km² which gives a population density of 447 inhabitants per km². The pharmaceutical company Janssen Pharmaceutica, founded by Dr. Paul Janssen, has its headquarters in Beerse.

TV series

Zone Stad was a popular Flemish-Belgian TV series about a police-department located in Antwerp. The show started in 2003 and ended in 2013. In the series, police officers solve various crimes, which are shown as realistically as possible. It is produced by the VMMa and broadcast on Belgian commercial channel vtm and TROS in the Netherlands.

<i>Salamander</i> (TV series) television series

Salamander is a Belgian crime drama television series, created by and based upon the novel by Bavo Dhooge, that was first broadcast on Eén on 30 December 2012. The twelve-part series, produced by Skyline Entertainment and written by Ward Hulselmans, stars Filip Peeters as Inspector Paul Gerardi, a Belgian detective who investigates the theft of sixty-six safety deposit boxes belonging to prominent Belgian figures. It was broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC Four from 8 February 2014. Following the success of the first series, a second series was commissioned by Eén but production did not begin until five years later. The second series is subtitled Blood Diamonds and was first broadcast on 7 January 2018. BBC Four broadcast from 14 April 2018.

Clément Van Bogaert was a (state-)engineer and constructor, best known for the steel platform roof of the Antwerpen-Centraal railway station, built during the Belle époque. VV Goes is a football club from Goes, Netherlands. In the 1911–1912 season Goes played in the second tier of Dutch football. Over the years Goes played mostly in the Tweede and Derde Klasse. In the national 1934–35 KNVB Cup Goes started and lost third round against VV Terneuzen (2–0). It was booted first round in 1957–58 by NOAD (2–4) and in 2011–12 by Zwaluwen Vlaardingen (1–5). André Demedts Belgian poet, writer and politician

André Demedts was a Belgian Flemish writer and teacher. He has published works in many genres, all in Dutch. In 1962 he received the Prijs voor Letterkunde van de Vlaamse Provincies for his work De levenden en de doden. In 1976 he received the award in honour of his life-time career. In 1990 he has received the Award "Driejaarlijkse Staatsprijs voor literatuur" to honour his career as a writer. In 1970 the award André Demedtsprijs was established to reward persons engaged in the cause of the large Dutch/Flemish cultural development with a main purpose to integrate and entangle cultural activities in the Netherlands, Flanders and South Africa.

The Toneelschrijfprijs is an annual literary award awarded to the playwrights of a Dutch language play that debuted in the preceding season. The award ceremony is held in either Flanders or the Netherlands. The winner of the prize receives €10,000. The prize was first awarded in 1988 as the Nederlands-Vlaamse Toneelschrijfprijs.

The Gorinchemse Voetbalvereniging Unitas is Dutch association football from Gorinchem. It is among the oldest football clubs of the Netherlands and for most of the 20th century played in the highest leagues of amateur soccer. In 2018 the prime squad of GVV Unitas returned to the Hoofdklasse.

Tabula Rasa is a nine-part 2017 Dutch-language TV series created by Veerle Baetens and Malin-Sarah Gozin and starring Veerle Baetens, Stijn Van Opstal and Jeroen Perceval. The plot revolves around Mie, a young woman with amnesia who is locked up in a secure psychiatric hospital.
