Having been classified at various levels throughout its existence, it operated at Class A-Advanced from 1990 until its demotion to Single-A following Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The league temporarily operated for the 2021 season as the Low-A West before reassuming its original moniker in 2022.

Dallas Lee Braden is an American former professional baseball player and television sports commentator. He played in Major League Baseball as a left-handed pitcher from 2007 to 2011 as a member of the Oakland Athletics. Braden pitched the 19th perfect game in Major League Baseball history on May 9, 2010. The following season, shoulder problems were the first of a series of injuries that forced him to retire in 2014 after not throwing a pitch for two and a half seasons. After his playing career, Braden became a television baseball analyst, working for the ESPN network.
Robert Henry "Harry" Lochhead, sometimes spelled "Lockhead", was an American baseball shortstop. A native of Stockton, California, he played professional baseball from 1896 to 1903, including two years in Major League Baseball with the Cleveland Spiders in 1899 and the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Athletics in 1901. He compiled a .231 batting average in 158 major league games. He ranked second in the National League with 81 errors in 146 games at shortstop during the 1899 season.
Klein Family Field is a baseball stadium in Stockton, California. It is the home field of the University of the Pacific Tigers college baseball team. The stadium holds 2,500 people and opened in 2006. Prior to the completion of Klein Family Field, the Tigers played home games at Billy Hebert Field in Oak Park, Stockton, California.
