Wesley College is a co-residential college of 265 students within the University of Sydney. The college occupies a site on the main campus of the University of Sydney and was built on a sub-grant of Crown land. Wesley is one of six on-campus colleges at the University of Sydney which provide accommodation. In 1923 the college averaged 45 students. Originally the college accommodated only men but when women were admitted in 1969 Wesley became the first of the colleges within the University of Sydney to become co-educational. The 1973 Australia rugby union tour of Europe was a series of nine matches played by the Australia national rugby union team in England and Wales in October and November 1973. The Wallabies won only of three of their matches, lost five and drew the other one; they lost both of their international matches, against Wales and England. The final match with Italy, is not considered as a capped Test match by Australian Rugby Union.

The policy change is colloquially named after Matt Giteau, as the rule was seen primarily to bring Giteau into the Australian side for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
