Presidency College is an art, commerce, and science college in the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. On 16 October 1840, this school was established as the Madras Preparatory School before being repurposed as a high school, and then a graduate college. The Presidency College is one of the oldest government arts colleges in India. It is one of two Presidency Colleges established by the British in India, the other being the Presidency College, Kolkata.
Bharat Ek Khoj is a 53-episode Indian historical drama based on the book The Discovery of India (1946) by Jawaharlal Nehru that covers a 5,000-year history of India from its beginnings to independence from the British in 1947. Thiruda Thiruda is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language black comedy caper film directed by Mani Ratnam written along with Ram Gopal Varma. The film stars Prashanth, Anand, Anu Aggarwal and Heera Rajagopal while S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and Salim Ghouse play supporting roles. The film's soundtrack and background score were composed by A. R. Rahman while the cinematography was handled by P. C. Sriram. In 1994, the film premièred at the Toronto International Film Festival. Aks (transl. Reflection) is an Indian 2001 Hindi-language supernatural action thriller film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Raveena Tandon, and Manoj Bajpayee in leading roles. The music was composed by Anu Malik. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and being a box office flop, it won three awards at the 47th Filmfare Awards: Best Actor — Critics (Bachchan), Special Award Performance (Tandon), and Best Sound Design (Ranjan). Bachchan and Bajpayee were nominated for the Best Actor and Best Villain at the same ceremony as well.

Thazhvaram is a 1990 Indian Malayalam-language western thriller film directed by Bharathan and written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. It stars Mohanlal, Salim Ghouse, Sumalatha, Anju and Sankaradi. It tells the story of Balan (Mohanlal), who's on the lookout for Raju for taking revenge for murdering his wife Raji (Anju). Bharathan also composed the only song featured in the film, the background score was provided by Johnson.

Drohi in Hindi or Antham in Telugu is a 1992 Indian neo-noir crime film written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma, filmed simultaneously in both Telugu and Hindi languages. The film starred Nagarjuna, Urmila Matondkar, Salim Ghouse, and Danny Denzongpa. The soundtrack was composed by R. D. Burman, as well as, Mani Sharma and M.M. Keeravani, who each composed one song. The background score, of the film, was composed by Mani Sharma. The Hindi version was titled Drohi. However, it released on 23 October 1992, on Diwali that year, a month after the release of the Telugu version. Both the versions, as well as the music, received positive reviews upon release.

It was released on 25 October 1992 on the eve of Diwali. The film was remade in Telugu as Amma Koduku, and in Kannada as Rasika in 1994.

Bharat Rangachary was an Indian film director and producer of Bollywood. He has directed several successful films like Zameen Aasmaan, Baat Ban Jaye, Waqt Hamara Hai and Takkar. He died on 4 July 1995, in Bombay due to cancer. His last film Takkar was released shortly after his death. He started his career as an assistant director with acclaimed director Hrishikesh Mukherjee. He was also acclaimed for his direction of TV series Subah on Doordarshan.
