Subliminal Girls are a London based pop punk/disco band.
The band contain ex and current members of The Art Goblins, Rhesus, Ciccone, Video Club, Future and the Boy, Dizzy Moth and The Bridport Dagger. They released singles with Weekender Records, an EP on Pop Art Records and have supported The Bravery, Jamie T, The Rumblestrips, Klaxons, and Babyshambles.
In 2007 the band signed to independent label Weekender records and released a double A-side single with tracks "Burn Koko" and "Mirror". [1]
The band's second single, a double A-side, "Self Obsession is an Art Form" and "Hungry Like the Wolf"—a cover of Duran Duran—reached number 18 in the official Indie Charts in January 2008. [2]
They have worked on a concept single with the British artist, Stuart Semple, on a limited edition of 10 box sets that included special artwork. This box set cost £1410, and is on display at several galleries worldwide. The independent record label, PopArt London, digitally released the single which included the tracks "Self Obsession Is an Art Form", "Posh Girl Names" and "Electronic Hearts" which attracted airplay on BBC Radio 6.
Subliminal Girls went on hiatus in November 2009. They have subsequently reformed for a number of one-off gigs. Recent performances have featured Ciaran McNamee on lead guitar.
Jimmy 2 Shoes rejoined the band in 2013 and since then they have played a handful of gigs.
Rumors have circulated on the internet in early 2018 of a full reunion with new songs. Recent shows have also featured Les "Fruitbat" Carter of Carter USM on rhythm guitar.
Subliminal Girls are recording a new EP "Vanity Project" in November 2018.
Duran Duran are an English new wave band formed in Birmingham in 1978 by singer and bassist Stephen Duffy, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and guitarist/bassist John Taylor. With the addition of drummer Roger Taylor the following year, the band went through numerous personnel changes before May 1980, when they settled on their most famous line-up by adding guitarist Andy Taylor and lead vocalist Simon Le Bon.
Rio is the second studio album by the English new wave band Duran Duran, released on 10 May 1982 through EMI. Produced by Colin Thurston, the band wrote and demoed most of the material before recording the album at AIR Studios in London from January to March 1982. The band utilised more experimentation compared to their debut album, from vibraphone and marimba to the sound of a cigarette being lit and cracking ice cubes. Andy Hamilton played a saxophone solo on "Rio".

Menswear were a Britpop band formed in October 1994 from Camden in London. They released a number of singles and an album, Nuisance, on the short-lived London Records subsidiary Laurel. A second album followed, which was released only in Japan; the group broke up in 1998. Menswear, made up of a new line-up in addition to frontman Johnny Dean, played their first show in 15 years in August 2013.
Art Brut are an English indie rock band. Their debut album, Bang Bang Rock & Roll, was released on 30 May 2005, with its follow up, It's a Bit Complicated, released on 25 June 2007. Named after French painter Jean Dubuffet's definition of outsider art – art by prisoners, loners, the mentally ill, and other marginalized people, and made without thought to imitation or presentation – South London's Art Brut were tagged by NME as part of the "Art Wave" scene that also included bands such as The Rakes, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party. The band released further albums, Art Brut vs Satan in 2009 and Brilliant! Tragic! in 2011. A fifth album, Wham! Bang! Pow! Let's Rock Out!", was released in 2018.
Wavelength is the tenth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, and was released in the autumn of 1978. The album has a different musical sound from his previous albums, leaning towards a pop rock sound with prominent electric guitars and synthesizers. Wavelength was Morrison's best selling album at the time of the original release. Mick Glossop, Bobby Tench and Peter Bardens were given credit for special assistance in production.

Slow Turismo are an Australian indie pop band from Canberra, which were formed in 2015. The three Conway brothers: Sam, Max and Riley (drums), were all previously members of an indie and alternative rock quartet, Rubycon, with Reuben Styles. Slow Turismo released their debut extended play in July 2015 and have followed with singles. The group have toured Australia.
