The Suffolk Youth Orchestra (SYO) is a symphony orchestra of over 90 players aged between 13 and 21 years. It is part of Suffolk County Council's programme of youth music.

The orchestra gives annual performances at the Snape Proms. It provided the orchestral accompaniment for the National Youth Music Theatre's tour of Creation. SYO was one of seven British youth orchestras selected to participate in the Masterprize Dearfield Education Programme, part of Masterprize 2001.

The orchestra performed a 'Prom in the Park' in the Abbey Gardens, Bury St. Edmunds, in the presence of the Queen and Prince Philip on the occasion of the Royal Golden Jubilee visit to Suffolk, and performed Saint-Saëns' 'Organ' Symphony at a concert attended by the Princess Royal at St. Edmundsbury Cathedral in celebration of the completion of the new cathedral tower.

In December 2007, the orchestra led the musical proceedings at BBC Radio Suffolk's Children in Need Carol Concert in Snape Maltings Concert Hall, broadcast across the region on Christmas Day.

Every summer, the orchestra goes on a week-long tour to continental Europe. Locations have included Poland, including a concert at Oświęcim (Auschwitz); [1] Prague; Barcelona and the Costa Dorada, Spain; Strasbourg; Tuscany, Italy; [2] the Castile and León region of Spain; [3] Hungary, Eastern Germany, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Belgium.

It provided the orchestra for two Benjamin Britten's War Requiem performances in April 2013. It took part in the 100 performances of the Battle of the Somme by Laura Rossi in April 2017.

The Saskatoon Youth Orchestra (SYO) is a Canadian music program based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The program includes the Youth Orchestra, the Saskatoon Strings, and the Double Bass program. The groups meet every Sunday evening September through April. Admittance is by competitive audition. The SYO plays a variety of music by modern and classical composers. About third of the members are young adults; the remainder are children and adolescents.

The New London Children's Choir was a children's choir which rehearsed at Highgate Primary School in North London and, latterly, All Hallows, Gospel Oak, giving singing opportunities to members aged seven to eighteen. Members were from London and surrounding areas. It was founded in 1991 by Artistic Director Ronald Corp and held its last rehearsal in July 2022. As well as performing its own concerts, the choir sang with orchestras and ensembles in many concert halls and opera houses worldwide and features on several film and TV soundtracks and CDs.

Joseph Phibbs is an English composer of orchestral, choral and chamber music. He has also composed for theatre, both in the UK and Japan. The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra is an orchestra composed of Ukrainian refugees who have fled the Russian invasion of Ukraine and Ukrainian members of other European orchestras. Canadian conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson, who has Ukrainian ancestry, provided the impetus for the creation of the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra, which the Metropolitan Opera of New York and the Polish National Opera immediately supported as a gesture of solidarity with the victims of the war in Ukraine.
